I just bought some D'lites and was wondering where I could see some routines or something, or if anyone knows where I could get some routines for it.

At least there´s the D'Lite Video which has some neat ideas but it would be best just to run with it. I have chased a red light (from a laser pointer) and picked it up. I also have a small (2 feet tall) Christmas tree which has 12 red lights (small superbright leds) that can be individually switched on and off plus a bunch of other lights for a "magic dust" effect.
I'd advice you not to take the effect to great lenghts and make it a fluent part of your current set rather than a stand-alone bit. For instance, my Christmas routine ends with the production of my assistant in Christmas costume.

The video is terrible.
It isn't hard to come up with some basic routines. The D'Lites, though extremely common, allow you to come up with some very unique routines and storylines.

I do a full three minute routine, all chereographed to music, it's done on stage in front of an audience anywhere from 100-1000 people. It always gets a huge roar from the audience. Just be creative and add other manipulative effects into as well.

There is no video that I know of. I saw Todd Charles at Michigan Magic Day 2004. He broke my bowling ball production briefcase. He was going to give me his bowl-a-rama. LOL. No Todd Charles is by far the best. He was doing his routine and he also plays the bango so he got his bango cutom from Wizardy place to have lights flash here and there and then went to a smily face. It was great. Great performer and a blast to watch.
here is who was there performing at the show. Talk about a killer show. Man all these guys need to go on tour togeather. They can get sold out shows every night. http://www.gerardenterprises.com/mmd2004.html And the really cool thing about going to this place. I got to sit down and talk to all of them. If you never had to a chance to talk to Gene Anderson. This guy is amazing. Just pure genious. Michael

I can support his statement that adding to the routines is not difficult. By comparison to another extremely common coin or card trick they certainly offer some variety to the audience. They are also better for stage or platform magic than table magic. My wife has used them for years in the stage show. A frequent question from the audience after the show is, "Where do you keep those balls with lights in them?" Like most stage magic, they are most effective for a trained entertainer who can move on stage and make use of dance and theater. Enjoy! Bob Magic By Sander |

Many people may knock the D'lite video, but it has a great deal of useful information. Also check out Jay Scott Berry's "The Light Fantastic" video. Although on a different light gimmick (Finger Fazers) many of the effects can be accomplished with a D'lite. As far as routining D'lite, this is a prop you can do almost anything you want with. Just think of the routine you want to do and come up with some different ideas to accomplish this. You might need to build some props, but at least you will be sure you are making something different and original.
