Someone told me to move my post here so I did:
I would like to get some of Andrew Maynes Illusion Plans but I’m not sure which ones are any good. I don’t want to have any special backdrops or anything. I have to Light Storm Already. What would be some good andrew mayne illusions for me. Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

Try the Voodoo box. You can read comments on this site. This illusion pack small and you can do it for less then $50!

These are all good ones to choice from.

The Bisection is a quick Illusion. Very Visual and stunning when done properly.

The Voodoo Box can be very stunning and very neat looking.

Pocket Sawing in half - With this one you can create different versions of cutting yourself in half.

The Specter Cabinet - This is a cheap but still very visual type of Flash appearance....Very neat and again a different look.

I like Andrew Mayne's stuff a lot.
I have bi-section, lightstorm, spectre cabinet, the secret illusion show booklet, and shock-FX.

Will you have any assistants and will you perform on stage? If not, then I would avoid light storm.. that is a stage trick... Shock-FX has some cool head based illusions like "pin head" (make your head instantly vanish) or "brain damage" sort a mini version of voodoo box where you just put the umbrellas through a box on your head. and if you're into those.. they may routine well with facelifter...I don't have it, but Facelifter looks pretty cool to me too..

Yes,I will be working on a large stage. Yes, I will have two on stage assisatnts. I want to know if you have to have a special backdrop for the spectar cabinet. Thanks for all your help!

You need a backdrop for the specter cabinet? I thought it worked like a shadow box...

Specter cabinet does need a backdrop. The effect is like shadow box, the method differs somewhat - although there are similarities.

It does NOT need a backdrop if you make the theatre dark enough. If you use smoke it is very deceptive.

Get Andrew Mayne's book "illusion book" and "solo x". They have some great ideas in them.

Solo X has some pretty cool stuff, but they seem kind of hard to make...if you have the time (and money) go for it. If you need this stuff for an upcoming show, don't purchase it.

I don't have it handy, but "A-Frame" is an illusion from Solo-x hat could be a really quick build. None of the other illusions come to mind...but hopefully none of us are trying to throw things into our acts last minute *wink**wink*.

I don't see Copperfield doing that. He created the killer act then went out to sell it....I am sorry you can do that if something happens but why create that...some people wait to the last min.....others there might have been something that happen to cause that to happen.

I don't recommend picking something up on the way to the show and then use it as your closer ... although I must confess I have done it.

It has more to do with your performance abilities than anything else - if you have done a great openner, and a solid show ... you can do no wrong at your close. I would never pick something up and use it to open a show however!

I use Specter cabinet and Lightstorm all the time. They were really easy to put together and work beautifully
