To answer Neil's post...actually, I do like hearing about the experiences of other performers with various brands of cards. I was turned onto Stud cards from a posting in another forum, and I enjoy using that particular brand.

And I really like the feel of the WPT white-bordered Bee cards. And again, that was something mentioned in a posting, so I made an attempt to search out a local supply of them.

For me, it's fun to hear what people think of the various brands out there. In performance, I normally use Bicycles, Studs, and the WPT cards. I've also used Hoyles in the past, as well as the CVC Pharmacy house brand decks (manufactured by Hoyle, but with a different feel).

And I'll usually pick up a deck if it's a brand I'm unfamiliar with, just to see how they handle (the Eagle cards by Carta Mundi, for example).

Of course, I'm just weird that way.....Smile

Run kitty run! It's not about caring what brands of cards/decks people buy... It's about the handling and performance of different brands.

They are no longer availabe, but Club Casino cards was my favourite brand. I still have a few decks. They are still incredible to use, the longer you handle them, the better they get. To bad they are no longer around.
I know it was a favourite of Richard Kaufman as well. The cards he used in the pictures in his magazine (now book) Richard's Almanac are Club Casino's.
One can only hope they will start produce them again.

Club Casinos were the Arrco cards of choise. Alas, Arrco went out of business and the so-called Arrco line now manufactured by U.S. Playing Card Co. are low-end cards not worthy of the name. The Club Casinos were packed in foil -- ah, the joy of breaking open a new pack. I've still got about a dozen sealed up. Kaufman has many, many packs.

but I prefer Fournier 505s for the extra stiffness, extra sound and smooth feel.

Hard to get in USA.

Nielsen manipulation cards...not only because they have a great name.

Bikes for the most part. Haven't gotten my hands on any Tally-Ho's. Bee's are alright, I don't like the feel too much though.

Bill,

Are Aristocrats available anywhere? I heard that they went out of production about 12 years ago. I'd love to learn of a source for Aristocrats. Of course, I am assuming that the current Aristocrats have not been cheapened in quality from the older Aristocrats.

Thanks for any ifo.

Mike
