Hey guys, I want a good phone effect to do for potential clients. It has to be fool proof ie no psychological forces. So far all I know is cold reading, and banacheks number reversal. Any good ones you guys could reccomend? I would prefer it to not involve playing cards.

The star sign divination in Marc Pauls Lecture notes is designed for such a purpose. Maybe you should look it up.

Richard Osterlind's Mind Mysteries DVD (Vol. 3, I believe) discusses a nice phone effect. If one of his audience member's cell phone happens to ring during his show, he takes full advantage of it by predicting something the person on the other end will think of. No force.

There is(was) a book titled "Person To Person(Lewis Jones)" published by Hades Publications. This is a book devoted to over-the-phone effects alone. I do not have it. So I do not know details, but I think it is worth checking.

The Greater Artful Dodges Of Eddie Fields, by Jon Racherbaumer, page 68: Silent Transmission Telephone Mystery is simple to perform, but plays big.
Playing card IS involved, but its a good one.

I've an effect I do based on a trick I saw in a Kreskin book which, though Ive never tried, should work well on the phone.
Message me for the method if you like ( If you can't figure it out ) but here's the effect.. You ask your client to take out any three coins and put them heads up in a row in front of them. Then they randomise the combination of heads and tails by reversing the coins one at a time. They can do this as often as they want. To make it more interesting, each time they reverse a coin they have to say whether it's the one in the middle, right, or left but, and here's the thing, they can lie or tell the truth about it. ( Credit to Andy Nyman's Sophie Trick for this presentational angle ) When they're happy the coins are suitably mixed you ask them to mentally select a coin and remember if it's showing heads or tails. In best acting mode you now say something like.." Now, if I'm right the two coins you're NOT thinking off are a head and a tail. Is that correct?" They will answer either Yes or No, a "Yes" is an extra hit and a "No" can be covered easily enough - but either way you now know whether the coin they are thinking off is a head or tail, and you can reveal it in as sexy a way as you dare. Should be enough info there to work out the mechanics, if you're stuck message me.. Paul |

Hi TheNightBringer89
Try the effect -Contimental - by Max Maven - DVD 3 here is the description: Could there be more direct exhibition of mindreading? Consider this: A spectator thinks of an international location; the mentalist reveals it. The end. There's no advance work, nothing is written down, and there are no props required. You can even perform this over the telephone! Regards |
