Hi,
I hope that somebody can help me with my problem (and I hope, this is the right forum). Two weeks ago I bought "Telekinetic Timber". I want to use it while I tell a story about enchanted trees (an idea by Borodin in his book Sheherazade). The problem I have is: the piece of wood is not falling! I do everything they say in the instructions: I first hold it in my hands for about 2 minutes to "set up" the wood. Then I turn it upside down and lean it against the wall. And then..... nothing happens. Has anybody an explanation? Do I something wrong? Am I too stupid for this prop? Thanks, Magixx

The "Telekinetic Timber" sometimes takes a very long time to react. You must also make sure that the lean is very slight. The block should just barely be past the balance point and the notch should be toward the support surface. Beyond that one you have might be defective.

Also, make sure the bottle you are using as a support is much taller than the timber.
If the support is not tall enough, the timber will not be resting right on that balance point.

Also, remember that the movement timing is effected by tempature. A colder temp will slow the process and a warmer temp will speed it up. Also if you bring it into a room, give it time to warm to room temp. I second the point about having a very slight tilt.

Also if you bring it into a room, give it time to warm to room temp. I second the point about having a very slight tilt. The temperature factor is definitely an issue. I used the telekenetic timber in my seance last fall and out of 9 shows, the timber only failed ONCE. The secret I found was to hold the timber so it would war up. This was easy for me, as I held and stroked the timber during a "monologue" in the seance. This worked for me, as a bludgeon was the primary murder weapon used to put the spirit I was attempting to contact into the spirit world. Also, remember to pull the bottle AWAY from the timber until you find the balancing point. Hope this helps, Magickally, Dave Birtwell |

The same thing applies to PK pens built in the same way.

I feel that not knowing when the timber will fall is a very good thing. I find myself thinking "Oh no, is it going to fall this time?" Creates tension because I am waiting too.
Excellent effect. Ron Dayton's new book "A darker light" has a chilling idea for the timber. You can download a sample of this book by going to the review section in Online Visions. James

Got this one ordered, can't wait to put it into my act. The place I work is an old Western Town and they have picnic type tables with tablecloths. IT also is not air conditioned (fans only). Problem is finding something to lean the wood up against without carrying anything that looks suspicious. They have lamps on the table but I checked last night and they were very hot. Mostly people drink out of glasses.

You can place the piece of wood on the glass. If you do this properly, it will fall of the glass (I think there is a suggestion how to do it in the instructions).

Thanks Calexa....I will have to experiment with some options on it. I know the place has all disposable plates and cups/glasses. The centerpiece lamps would be great but they have the fire going inside and I already touched the glass (much too hot).
I can't wait to receive this. I can try it out at my office first and get plenty of timing issues solved then.

As I said before, a lot will depend on the angle and the temperature of the room. And there is an other thing: you should turn the TT upside down some minutes before you use it.

Just got mine today UPS. Still working with it......awesome if I can get it to work 100 percent.
Question: Directions say not to let it fall onto hard surface. What is considered a hard surface?

I have no idea. I let it fall on stone floors, wood, everthing - and I have no problems with it....

Thanks....worked with it most of day to get the timing down...Boy, if you don't have the balance point at exact spot, it won't work.
