I am trying to link my routines together into a theme. One I am thinking of doing is taking 3 effects and combining them into the spectators devining the age, name, and cause of death, of a deceased person. A picture of the person with all that information will be in an envelope on the table the whole time. It will be opened at the end to reveal all the details the spectator selected matches. Do you guys think this is too depressing though? I think it could be very pwoerful, but it might not be entertaining since we are talking about a dead person. what do you think?

Why couldn't you do the same effect, but someone currently alive. You would need to find something to substitute for the cause of death though (How could you do the age of someone deceased?).That takes away the whole depressing senario.
Thanks! Scott B.

I think the Death theme would be OK (even great) if it was an OLD antique photograph...maybe a Western type person (Cowboy...Salloon Girld etc.) with a historical meaning that puts it well out of the realm of a recently deceased person. Not depressing if you make it fun and entertaining. Who could be depressed about Billy The Kid? (But it could be an antique Unknown person as well.)

Why not think of a living person and instead of death their greatest achievement, pashion or love. This done properly could be a very uplifting routine.
Keep away from dead people.. |

Ok thanks gus, I forgot to mention it was going to be a murder, choicesof death like, drowning, stabbing, shot etc. hehe. Xmosis I like your idea of it being an antique person, alows for more of a theme also. thanks! I'm not too sure about it being a live person, or someones greatest ahievment, it doesn't really work for me. I like the darker side, but this may be a little too dark! Again the antique idea is great.
P.S. Someone asked how you would do the age, well on the back of the picture it would be written something like: At the age of 47 Jakob was Shot by an unknown murderer.

To take it away from the depressing you could have comical modes of death, or make it more surreal like murdering cartoon characters?
Just an idea. K

Not too depressing if the Murder/death thing is a constructed plot line...sort of like an English Drawing Room Mystery. This plot is established and viable. Go for it.
WAY too depressing if you are going to do a number on somebody's Grandma. Don't need squalling in the middle of your show. Dampens the hilarity.
