In Tim Wright's video "Multiplying Balls", he shows how to construct a four ball climax where the balls are seperate and can be dropped into a hat one at a time. It is also inexpensive. You do however have to turn to the side to make the steal.

The original Fakini instructions gives the late Karroll Fox's method, No side turning, head on and it is very simple method.

I make my own, they're not being held up for scrutiny, therefor, nothing ever matters in very little matters.

Just food for thought here. Why even use a Flash Four as an ending? We as magicians tend to want to use them for a simple reason that 1) they already exists and are easy to buy and 2) we have seen others before us do it so why not us.
In just my own personal opinion, I would want to stay away from a flash four finale just becuase of the fact that I personally have seen them done so many times before. In my own magic, I would want to create something new and unique and creative and different. I would want to challenge myself to do something that is unique to my personality and what I am trying to convey to my audiences on stage. I am not saying that a flash four finale is not good magic, because it does look great. I am only sending out thoughts here to get others possibly thinking in more creative terms. What if you forced yourself to not use a flash four? What would you do and what could you personally create as an ending to a billiard ball routine where it is both creative, new and different? It certainly gets you thinking when you personally challenge yourself like this. Some of the best ideas come out of forcing yourself away from what is common in the manipulative acts we see. Just food for thought here and I challenge anyone to think creatively. Open those doors that we sometimes try and keep closed. Open your mind to seeing what is beyond the norm and create something different and new. It is hard for sure but I think the journey and your audiences are worth the effort put forth. Kyle

I used to to a nine ball routine using 2 1/8" Fakini's. For my finale, I simply dropped the balls onto the stage, took a bow and walked off. Magician's couldn't believe that I didn't use a shell. Laymen thought I was being avant-garde.

Kregg,
Interesting thoughts here but I wonder if you were performing mainly for magicians or if your audience was mainly lay people. To the lay person, I wonder how they perceived the simple dropping of the balls onto the stage and just walking off. Not saying that is a bad thing, but just different and unique and so I wondered how it was perceived. I think it could almost be perceived like you stated as sort of like, since you created these things from thin air, then they can merely be disgarded at will as you can always make more. Interesting approach I would say. I am glad you chimed in here because at least we are seeing some different approaches to thinking creatively with the billiard balls to do things slightly different, creative and unique. Thanks for sharing. Kyle

Kyle,
I performed this at a magic banquet and the magician's gave me a standing ovation. Whereas, the layman thought that I just dropped the balls and walked off the stage. Anytime there is a change in what is accepted as normal, gradual exposure and consensus help to validate the thing most people fear; change. The only guarantee short of death is change. Magic can be anything you want it to be, after all, it's magic.

Bill Baird used to end his routine with the multiplication of the billard balls to Four as the finale. He handled the S---l in such a way that I have seen few others do. At the end, he drops them all into the hat.
Kregg, you and I will have talk when I get back from Abbott's. Richard

Richard,
I'd bet that Tim Wright knows the shell handling used by the Bill Baird. Bill was teaching a kid by the name of Danny Watkins, but, I lost touch with him shortly after Bill Died. Kregg

I have Bill on Film about a month before he died. You can follow a lot of the stuff. It is just his *** smile and the routining that made it all work.
I will ask around at about about Dan Watkins. Maybe someone will know something. I am sure that Tim knows the handling as he does something similar. Richard

I picked up a few shell turns over the years, but, I don't recall the sources. Bill's could be amongst the ones I know.

I used John Booth's Cannonball Finish (Abbott's sold a giant golfball with a hinged door that is great)... you drop all the balls into a hat, a flash of flame and pick up the hat and produce a ball that just fits in the hat.

FAKINI also sells the jumbo Golf ball with out the trap door. I do not know if Abbott's still sells this item. It has been years since they offered it for sale.
