Does anyone know the complete history of Cardini? Is there any tapes or records of his performances? Documentary media?

John Fisher in England is writing the definitive Cardini biography. I have not yet heard of a publishing date. You can be sure it will be worth the wait.
Regarding performance video, one of Paul Daniels' shows re-ran Cardini's act from "Producer's Showcase" in 1957. (Daniels' show was produced by John Fisher.) I know copies are floating around and I believe even on the web. I am sure someone here will know the link.
Without doubt, Cardini was the greatest COMMERCIAL manipulation act in the business.
At Loew's State Theater in NYC in the 1940's he was billed as "The Most Imitated Act In The World." (About 15 years later, Channing Pollock could claim that title!)
