The collectors of mine you do, is it Illegal Collections? I love that trick, but have never seen anyone else do it! Or is it Straightforward Collectors? Thank you for passing on the Tania comment. I can die happy. Glad you liked it too, but Tania.... |

Hi David, I can't believe no one has mentioned this yet but I have performed "Sticky Tranpso" and this absolutely frys them. Especially if both cards are signed.
I also used to do a trick out of "Close Up and Personal" I can't remember the name right now but it's a transposition between four two's and four Queens with a selected card. The only thing I changed here is to use a business card instead of a selected card. The business card stays upjogged in view at all times during the transpo. I'm just getting started with the new books but I'm sure there will be more great stuff. Thanks Jeff

That trick is called "For Marlo". and I like your idea with the business card. I came up with the trick while in a Chicago hotel room, about to spend time with Marlo for the first (and only) time in my life, and I wanted to put together something good for him. |

David,
I, too, do Triple Vision. I was intrigued by the trick when I read it, but when I saw you do it at the video shoot...Bammo! No, it wasn't a card walloper. That presentation lead me to the chance to bring my father into my set as the sender of the deck. I use the "Damn him." line but play it a couple of clicks less commical than you. Thank you for the oportunity to bring some fatherly pride to the dad who till this day still doubts yet supports. That is a rare gift. Cheers, Tom |

Hi David,
I would like to tell you, that I like your magic very much. The Downunder Production /Assembly was the first thing I have added to my repertoire. I'm especially fond of Illegal Collections (devilishly clever in my opinion) and Perchance To Dream, which is just perfect for me, because of my theatre background and my general fondness for literature and drama. Perchance To Dream is a great trick. Best wishes, Uli |

Thanks so much. "Perchance To Dream"'s ending is something that always feels like a freebie to me. It is SO unmagical for the performer, one has to remind oneself that it is AMAZING for the audience. |

David,
I have just returned home after performing a little magic at a dinner party type gathering. I have to say thank you, thank you, and thank you again for "World's First Card Trick". It received one of the best reactions yet again. I also got the chance to try out a teeny adjustment this evening that I've been wanting to try out for a while. I use two decks (of differing back colours) and hand one to each spectator seated on either side of me. I take back the first deck and peek the top card as I put it aside saying something like "actually we'll use the other deck." I take back the second deck and spread it face up on the table as I ask, "are these mixed...? Are you sure?" As I mush the cards up I control the peeked-at card from the other deck. "Because I want to make sure that these cards are definately shuffled..." And then go from there. I used your presentation a couple of times but decided against it because I use a couple of false cuts and shuffles elsewhere in my act and wasn't sure if that presentation would arouse suspicion or not. A personal thing. Now I present it with me having some sort of anal obsession that this deck should be as shuffled as it can be. After the "you didn't want to shuffle again?" spiel and after the top card of the shuffled deck is turned over I call attention to the other deck. "You shuffled that deck too, didn't you? Turn over the top card of that deck as well..." There was a moment before the card was turned over. Then it was. Then they went crazy. I feel warm and happy deep down inside whenever I perform this trick because I do nothing apart from make sure that the cards "really are" being shuffled. Bye the bye, after the top card is turned over when you perform this in your tapes, I adore the way you so innocently ask, "what did you get? The king of hearts?" It just makes me smile. :bg: So a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart for my new favourite card trick (as of this evening). Kindest regards, Stephen

I've had alot of fun with the Prophecy Pack after seeing it in a Meir Yedid lecture many years ago. Built up correctly, it kills (and Meir did build it up well). I greatly admire the efficiency of the method. In many ways, it's very similar to your World's First Card Trick. (But clean-up and reset are harder )

It's a favorite of mine, as well. "Lucky Seven", in the new book, is an outgrowth of it. Here's a variation of "Self Evident" I mentioned on my tapes. On the back of each of the twelve red-backers, write a message. On the back of the Three of Hearts, write "You will pick the Three of Hearts", on the back of the Queen of Clubs, write "You will pick the Queen of Clubs"...you get the idea. The effect changes a little. |
