Foolin' With Time is a great effect. It is essentially the clever application of a little-known existing watch that has some very unusual features. Carl Williams then added a few little props to make it a charming piece of "mental" magic.
The main plus is, of course, that the watch actually works and keeps time, so you can use it as your everyday watch (it is nice looking...not cheap or ugly) and to the trick, apparently, on the spur of the moment. If you review the instruction book carefully, you will figure out a very easy way to really make a miracle of the trick by presenting an effect where anyone sets the watch (the working of this part will fool Stull/Geneva/Timetrix/Pefect Time/Time Machine guys if any are present,) and then having a spectator be "hypnotized" and actually reveal the unknown time. Now, that's pretty cool. The instructions don't explain this, but once you've read them, you'll know how to do this effect. By the way, the instructions are very confusing, so just be patient and you'll get a grasp of exactly what this watch does. |
