As well as what was booked a year in advance earlier this month, just had two e-mails today over Christmas Parties.
So "Yo Ho Ho" - here's to Christmas 2005. It's funny how this one month of the year seems to be such a landmark in any entertainer's life. When I used to play piano with bands and in Clubs, it was always the thoughts of those two huge pay packets on Christmas and New Year's Eve that stuck in your mind. Now, all these years of entertaining. In years gone bye December used to "save us" financially. Thankfully it is not of the same importance now, - but it's still impossible to break that mindset isn't it? Tony. |

December has also been a great month for my wife and I and we are already rebooking for next year. Since we work a lot of festivals, this year we made an attempt to get into what are called Holiday Light festivals. This is where the parks and recreation dept. puts up light displays in the park and have people drive through it. They then can stop and check out the entertainment as well as food and refreshments inside the barn or building afterwards.
There are several of these around where we live and it is a great way to market for a festival style and family style event in the winter and get a good paycheck as well. We just did our last one last night and did 3 30 min shows through out the evening to packed and standing room only crowds. It was not only fun, but we were also allowed to sell our BOR items and made extra income from that. Also we set up an information table where I had my tri-fold brchs, business cards, flyers and colring flyers for the kids. Many people picked them up and we got bookings just from having that there. So this is just a different type of market you might consider for the holiday season 2005. It worked great for us. Kyle
