My latest mini set came from three double cocktail jiggers in brushed stainless steel
I bought 4 jiggers at about £1.60 a time. The 50ml and 25ml measures were spot welded back to back. These can be split using a fine cold chisel and club hammer. I've got a 2 1/2 inch set and a micro 1 3/4 inch set from this. Also the spare two were used for making up a gimmicked one with a hidden cavity for liquid or salt productions. This matches the other ones perfectly and can be switched in and out. |

Hiya, Blackshadow:
I don't work with stainless steel, so bear with a coupla dumb questions: Do you have access to MIG equipment for the mods you talked about, or will you use epoxy or other cold processes? If MIG, what about finishing post-weld? How about the 'attic' space in the Cups? Is there a dimple in the resultant jigger? Do these concerns factor into a 'mini' Cup set? Thanks, Leland |

I used super glue to bond the cups. Thus only cold processes. I think if I heated it it might disturb the brushed finish and I'm not a very good welder for fine work. I'll try and post details with photos of the full gimmick set up in the other forum.
The attic space is limited. You can only get one ball in and I had to hammer in dimples and rework the finish on the top where the welds were cut. It's turned out OK though. Hence I don't suggest this would be an "all singing all dancing" set for complicated routines. For bar/restaurant work though they're great. They even have the 50ml measure stamped on the outside so it really looks like I just picked them up at the bar. |
