I got a Ballerina Hank back in July of 04, but I have not put it in my show yet. I want to know what you good people (smile) think of this effect, and if anyone out there has it, can you provide some suggestions on how to present it?

I used it with great effect in my 'pre-show' wandering at the local Dickensian Christamas Fair this last year, 'chasing' the hank through the streets (at a sufficiently low speed so that people could see what it was I was chasing), talking to people with my hat in my hand and having it pop out and flit around, during which I would look down at it annoyed and tell it to go back into the hat...
My best moment, though, had to be during a 'chase' scene - I (intentionally) plowed right into one of the wall flats with a nice hearty *THUD*, only to stagger back with the hank securely held in both hands and a very I-Mean-To-Do-That "Got it... Got it..."

There is an old paperback book called "Napkin Folding" that had some good ideas in it. I bought six of them from Tannen's in the 60s and apparently gave them all away to friends. I no longer have one. (I found that magicians' wives enjoyed them! So it was a good item to leave after dinner. Magicians tend to marry very good cooks!)

I was thinking of approaching a table with the silk in my hand. Then I explain that I'm about to vanish it (since this is something magicians are known for). But as I say "vanish" the hank escapes me, trying to run for it's life - since it don't want to vanish... I do this two or three times, and then I excuse myself for her behavour, tell them that she is nervous and that maybe I'll do something else instead.
