Hey everyone! Today has been an awesome day! Today was Winter Havens 5th annual Splash Bash. I have never gone before. But I heard it was being hosted by the club I go to, so I decided I should go to support the club.
I had in mind a whole bunch of people, and they would be playing in the pool and there would be many different cool stand ups, and they were going to take tons of beach sand and put it on the ground, so all the kids can play with. Was I wrong! I had confused it with the "Summer" Splash Bash. This was a huge magician meeting! It was like a big flea market where people set up stands and sell magic. It was so cool! I met some cool magic dealers from around the state. I met the owner of Daytona Magic and his apprentice. It was awesome! I ordered AOA from them too. Also I was asked to perform in front of 30+ people . Which wasn't anything compared to the 90 that showed up in the beginning. But, I was hanging around a couple of coin magicians and they started talking about some cool intelligent coin magicians, and as they were talking, the name David Neighbors came up and they started talking about him and how he knew so much and all. I was sitting there thinking "Hey that is the guy who is always helping me out on the web". I thought that was so cool and I didn't know that David is semi-famous in the magic realm. That's cool. |

Sounds like you had a lot of fun. I would have loved to seen everything. David is certainly famous in his own right. He is among the best of them.
What type of stuff did you peform for the crowd? Brian Proctor |

I came super unprepared! I didn't even know it would be a ton of magicians selling and buying. But I just whipped out my d'lites and made up a routine in 3 mins. I did alright but the audience was a bit stone. Probably because they were amazed about the little lights appearing from nowhere. But let me say that d'lites don't really make a good routine by themselves, maybe an opener, pop-in, or finale.

I would have died if I were there, the nearest magic store from me is an hour away, and that's not a fun ride into Boston, so... yeah, I wish I could have been you.

gimmick1586,
You would be surprised to know exactly who is on this board. Everyone here is VERY LUCKY to be getting the kind of tips and personal instruction from such a large group of the best professionals that are alive today. Hats off to all of them, and Steve Brooks as well for making his vision a reality. Mike
...think not that all wisdom is in your school. You may have studied other paths, but, it is important to remember that no matter who you are or where you come from, there is always more to learn.
