Are There Any Bizarre Themed Invisible Decks, be they tarot major arcana or otherwise?
Thanks, in advance, for any info. |

The "Invisible Deck" plot (in which a named card is found reversed) can actually be performed with any deck of cards using sleight of hand and other techniques, so if you learn those techniques you can feel free to use any deck you want (including Tarot).

If there are not, an invisible deck is easy to make. Are you looking for effects or for the actual prop?

You can always use a little cartomancy to add some occultish aspect to a regular invisible deck. Once they name the card, do a bit of cold reading and/or talk about the relevance of their selection and about that is the reason why you predicted it.

Applying the ID treatment to a pack of Gypsy Witch cards has possibilities.

Wiz Kid Qua-Fiki's "X Marks the Spot" is a good alternative for the R/S Invisible Deck ( no R Fluid needed!). Instead of the card flipping over invisibly, you have the spectator imagine (or act out) marking the back of the card with an X.
"The performer then removes a box of playing cards (can be Tarot cards or Gypsy Witch cards) from his pocket. He has the spectator open the box and remove the cards. The spectator removes the top three cards and turns them face up, showing them to be the cards he was asked NOT to imagine – the Ace of Spades, the Joker, and the Queen of Hearts. The performer thanks him for NOT choosing the obvious cards. "Now the performer takes the cards and turns the deck face up, looking for the card named by the spectator as the one he marked with an “X” on the back. That card is handed to the spectator face up, while the backs of all the other cards in the deck are shown to be normal, unmarked backs. When the spectator finally turns his chosen card face down, it is seen to have a large black “X” marking on the back. “X Marks the Spot!” You don't have to draw an X if you have a better idea for a symbol to be used to mark the card. "X Marks the Spot" can be found in The Wizards' Journal #35.

The cheapest, easiest way to make an invisible deck is to use the Roughing Stick marketed online, I got two at Vanishing Inc., I've made several invisible decks with normal off-the-shelf card decks so far and they work very well. You can get a Jumbo index Bicycle deck and use the Roughing stick on it, and have a pocket-sized invisible deck that can be seen at stage distances. There are many great spooky card decks that would work well for this purpose. It's quite a lot of fun to make them and takes literally less than 10 minutes.

Bro Gilbert’s “Deep3” is something I did for a while. With the right story, it can be very eerie! Not strictly an invisible deck, but a similar concept.

There is a rather good seance that uses an invisible deck in Mysticum Artium Magister (if I do say so myself, I wrote that chapter, check it out.

There's a great routine using an Invisible Deck in Paul Voodini's 'Byzantium'. The story really sells the effect and I had a bunch of girls really freaking out over it at a show a couple of weeks back.

Question are participants that familiar with the tarot, to make this presentation feasible?
No matter how many times you say the wrong thing, it will NEVER be right.

It isn't the prop. It's the presentation.
(Yes, the prop should be consistent. But figure out the presentation first. Please.)
