So who is gonna be there?
If you ever get to a point where words have no meaning, you're probably talking to a dog.

Other plans have changed and I can now attend! This will be my first Magifest. Any suggestions from people who've been to a few?
Dave

MagiFest Review:
Thursday Dealers opened, and everyone stormed in. Convention was held at the Renaissance, I had never been there, as I went twice to the Crowne Plaza. The hotel is downtown. I stayed at the Sheraton which is a five minute walk, so not too bad. Notable dealers: Seo Magic, Mark Mason, Paul Richards, Penguin Magic, Vanshing Inc, Brent Braun, Adam Wilber(Vulpine Creations), and 2-3 book dealers, and Sean Ridgeway. I was able to get a copy of The Card Magic of Nick Trost for cheap, it is OOP. There were more dealers, but I cant remember much about them. Material or books that stood out: Sean Ridgeway has a trick called numbers, and paradox prediction which was fooling. Adam Wilber had his In Case of Emergency Vanishing Inc debuted Joshua Jay's Trojan Deck Asi Wind book, Before We Begin John Graham book, Stage by Stage John Graham Encore, which is a multiple selection routine Tim Hill Emergence, which is a cool coin to glass gimmick How Magicians Think book by Joshua Jay Lectures: Asi Wind, phenomenal as always, tipped 2 things that he didn't want to tip, one close up item, and one for stage which he debuted at the show John Armstrong, taking material from close up to the stage Brent Braun, great as always Carisa Hendrix Nate Staniforth Eric Jones Remembering Simon Aronson, they were selling a small book on Simon Magi-Fest Session, which included Terry Ward, which he does the best 3 shell pea game I had ever seen Also, Andi talked about piracy and how they confronted a pirate in person. Steve Cohen talking about an ancient tea kettle that belonged to Devant. Shows: Lucy Darling show....great improv and comedic timing Asi Wind show.....phenomenal as always, debuted a trick he later explained, and also did Time is Money, and paid tribute to Chan Canasta. The Evasons........ no idea how they do what they do, they are great The Passing Zone..... both guys look like CEOs and they were very entertaining Alex Ramon ....great illusions, and he actually did Joshua Jay's Balanced on stage with his dog, it was crazy Danny Cole .... his act you may have seen, great as always Alexander Boyce....great dove act John Graham........ how to structure your show, great finale to a show it was awesome. Other magicians that showed up that werent part of the bill. Michael Kaminskas Steve Valentine David Williamson Eric Lecler and Alex Boyer (Big Trick Energy) Steven Brundage Connecting up with old friends and making new friends, and hanging out jamming with Asi Wind and John Graham until the wee hours of the morning. All in all it was one of the best fests I have ever been to. Looking forward to the next one. Alex
