Hi,
magicwarehouse.com has the danny archer routine w/balls for $10. it is quite similar to the roth routine. the balls are the right size, just not as good as fakini's. dug

Denny & Lee usually have Fakini's for sale. They go fairly fast, but he replenishes them as soon as possible.

Party stores, dollar shops, etc usually carry the balls in many colors ....like small hi bounce balls . these are perfect for the marlo double steals.

Wal-Mart is a great source for silicone balls for this trick. You can get them in a variety of colors and styles.

Bill, what department in Wal-Mart are they found? What are they sold for? Toys?

The last batch that I bought was at Toy's R Us, but like Bill I have found these rubber balls in grocery store's and larger box store's where children’s toys can be found.
Another place to consider is the pet department- you'd be surprised at all the smaller, odd sized tennis and base balls in these sections. They work great as final load balls if you have a small, or mini set of cups. MM

Denny & Lee did't send me 1 inch balls after 10 months of waiting. Any other magic shop that have them?
Thanks for your help. Takis |

Takis, if you are looking for balls (similar to the ones that Fakini sells), go to http://www.mcmaster.com/ and search for silicone rubber balls. These are off white, but occasionally there are seams on the balls. If the seams bother you, then you'll have to spend some time smoothing them out (sandpaper or a scalpel will work well). They also have other types of balls, but silicone or neoprene are the best ones for manipulation. For 1" balls, they're about 10 for $15.

Mr. Muggle,
Interesting article. The one thought that stuck out to me was: "But I also espouse a theory that the cost far outweighs the benefit, and that's where it becomes a status thing. There is always a certain strata who are willing to pay for a sports car rather than a sedan, though both will get you there just as well. Silicone has become a cult thing, almost a fad, simply because it's very expensive." I wonder if we might substitute "[your favorite cup name here] cups and balls" for Silicone? Or would that be messing with someone's a sacred ox? Jeff Dial

John Rogers had some excellent Fakini's available, but I checked his site and they don't seem to be listed anymore. It might be worth contacting him to see if any sets are left. The set I purchased from him are great and are a little bigger than the size Roth used. Johnny Thompson called them Chick Cup balls.

Glad you posted that Brian I had seen the same thing at his site within the last couple weeks and went back to order a set and couldn't find it anywhere.
I was thinking maybe I had seen it somewhere else and was looking everywhere with no luck. Nick |

I just got my 3 ball routine today. The Danny Archer routine. The rubber balls are terrible. I switched over to my set of balls from the cups and balls and its much better. I really don't like Archers routine. I think Im gonna use the routine from Johnny Thompson from his commercial magic videos. Does anybody know how nice the Roth routine is??

I agree though, you could exchange the wording in the sentence. I found the article doing a search for a project and saved the link to it. I’m glad that you liked it; I think that it was an interesting read. Pauly cork balls from a set of cups and balls work well, but I prefer silicone. You have to try different rubber balls before going with a set- I have found a large difference among the different types of rubber used; some balls are more sticky than the other’s. Milt Kort & John Luka both use the crochet balls for their 3 ball routine. I think that Vernon used rubber or silicone balls- at least that’s what it looks like to me by the look of the photos in the “Vernon Book of Magic”. I find that crochet balls tend to be to light for my tastes, but that doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t or can’t be used. Roth’s routine is alright but I prefer Johnny Thompson’s. Aldo also has a routine called “Get the Ball Rolling” that is alright. I don’t care for some of the handling, but think that he has a few good ideas. Hope this post helps in some way, if you can't find any silicone balls on a dealers website try contacting the House of Fakini. The balls that he makes are a joy to work with and wear well. As far as I know the address below is correct- give them a call. House of Fakini 1028 Orchard St. Toledo, Ohio 43609 (419)255-8658 MM

What size silicone balls are you looking for? Brian Dube at http://www.dube.com makes the highest quality juggling silicone balls there are, in the brightest colors, but his smallest ball is 2 1/4".
Al As far as I know silicone balls are made by Fakini, Dube, and Todd Smith. They are not cheap and I can't imagine Wal Mart sells the real thing, perhaps they are lacross balls at Wal Mart. Al
