And, would it be advisable to do the throw/hype with some speed or to do it slowly? I've noticed that Darwin Ortiz adds some speed to his throws, Chef Anton does it a bit slowly in the SFS video.

Mine is probably at the speed of Chef Anton...since I learned it from him. There is no need to do the move very quickly as long as you can't see the card sliding along the other one.
