Thanks for the correction. I thought 'The Great Stupendo' was wrong, although I couldn't think what it was. Seemed an odd name for a magician to call himself!
I noticed on magicweek.co.uk that he is going to be doing a tour. Like many magicians though he seems to be skipping central london. Shame, I haven't seen him since his occaisional appearance on TV 10-15 years ago. Regards, Kris Sheglova
The above is all rubbish, except that which you chose to believe

...Did anyone see his 'book test' effect (as Soprendo) on TV all those years ago? A chosen page was later found to be torn out of the paperback novel used. It blew me away at the time. Which 'book test' was this?

When it comes to Geller, the thing that annoys me is when on Jungle in response to being asked to bend a spoon, he says "oh come on I don't do the spoon bending any more, I'm trying to get away from that". Then no sooner is he out of there, whadda ya know he's bent a spoon in the hotel bar for Ant & Dec. Good excuse to avoid performing I guess.
Another thing I found *very* amusing was Jonathan Margolis' description of Blaine trying to do the Balducci for him in Uri's garden. Blaine turned his back so Jonathan moves around a bit to see what's happening, Blaine "shuffles his feet" and turns his back again, so Jonathan moves around a bit more... in the end Blaine gave up and didn't do it. |

Although I didn't see it, it sounds VERY like the effect to be found in Ted lesley's excellent "Paramiracles". <<and knowing the skilled self-publicist he is, I can't help but wonder what he is up to next?>> Whether it will be NEXT is hard to say, but here is Plan “A” – and you know what Plan “A”’s are like! Uri is coming up to my native Scotland. If you’ve seen the film “Braveheart” then you’ll know about the Battle of Falkirk. Unfortunately, nobody knows exactly where the battle took place (except that it was somewhere near Falkirk, obviously!) Historians have been arguing about it for years. Every so often, they dig a trench in the hope of finding artefacts. So far, nothing. It was supposed to happen a couple of months ago, but the “Jungle” programme came up, so it was put on the back burner. Basically, Uri, some reporters and I will be taking a helicopter trip over Falkirk during which he will use his abilities to find the likely site of the battle. Everything is basically set to go, and The Falkirk Herald, The Sun (who got mixed up with the battle of bannockburn) , the Daily Record, and Teletext have all covered it already. Scottish Television are also extremely interested in covering it. Should be fun! |
