I'm considering two separate routines where a silk first shrinks (visibly, if at all possible), and a second where a silk expands (again, visibly, or at least without cover).
David Ben cites one such routine (growing silk) in "The Magic of Edward Victor's Hands", so I'm tracking that down. Does anyone know of any other sources for these effects?

This isn't the same but there is Harold Rice's "The Diminishing Silk" and is available from various sources including Silk King Studios. As far as the enlarging silk is concerned, you can also look in the Encyclopedia of Silk Magic. There is also a silk wheel in which you show two silks, tie them together, and then when you pull on them there are 3 silks, then 4, then 5, then 6, then 7.

I have an old manuscript that was done with a hanky for stretching a hanky that would work with a silk also.
