Hmmm, I have all 3 (or is it 4?).
They're pretty good, and covers mostly card-tricks, although Elmsley has some other routines in there as well, including a multiplying-card routine (think billiard balls, only with cards), and a torn-and-restored newspaper routine. The card routines are great, though, and he covers sleights such as the Bottom Deal, the Faro Shuffle, the Everchanging Count and of course, the Elmsley Count. ![]() Hmmm... it's been quite a while since I've last watched them. I'll post a list of routines covered if anybody wants them. |

Just thought I'll post the list here for everyone (and to boost my number of posts!
![]() Volume 1 contains (all card tricks) : Four-card trick Twisters Flush One Poor Lion Separating the Men from the Boys Power Poker Spectators Aces Economy Class Departure Dazzle Volume 2: (also card tricks) 1002nd Ace Repulsive Aces Elmsley Rising Card Brainweave (invisible deck effect, with ordinary cards) Underworld Collinspell The Floating Ladies Cross-25 I'll look at the other 2 again when I find the time. As a comment, the videos are well-produced, and the routines are good, although I've adapted the handling here and there to make things easier. But some moves, like the B***** Deal and Faro Shuffle, are not explained in too much detail, at least, in my opinion. Rather, he offers his thoughts on the moves, but assumes that the viewer already knows them. Nevertheless, there is a useful Superpractice section after a couple of routines or so, that go through the moves in slow motion, but silently. My RSI is acting up; will continue when I have more time. Hope y'all find this useful! |

I have volume 2 and it is good. He is a legend and the interviews that he gives on the video are good. I had to turn the volume on the TV up becuase he is a very soft spoken person. I have to agree with angpc in that Elmsley assumes that you already know a lot of what I will call intermediate moves or techniques so he does not explain them. If you admire Elmsley than buy the videos.

It's worth it to have all the 4 volumes, learn and study each of the effects. I find that the effects and excellent and on top of that, after playing around the card effects, my mind generated lots of thinking!

I thought it was one of the first 4 vol. sets that was full of great magic
without a lot of filler just to make 4 tapes. I've been thinking of getting the dvd's sometime... |

As well as the 4 dvds I would strongly recommend the 2 books written by Stephen Minch.
