A suggestion to help us keep our PM boxes tidy: As it is, we can only delete individual messages or else delete them all. I was wonderig if it would be possible to add a feature to let us delete multiple PMs at once, but not all of them. Maybe a checkbox somewhere in each message, and a "Delete checked messages" button at the top of the screen, a la Hotmail, Yahoo, etc. Feasible or no?

Apologies if this reply sounds contentious, Quinn. It isn't intended to.

But I see no need for such a feature. I receive some PMs, I read each one in turn, I delete it if I don't need to keep it. (In fact, as requested by admin, I usually delete them all fairly soon, after copying any necessary content to somewhere else.)

But maybe you receive many more PMs that I do.

I agree with Dave. Unless you have some specific reason for keeping all those PM's, delete the ones you don't want right away and save the others elsewhere.

You should see how many PMs we get.

A handy shortcut for deleting multiple PMs is to rightclick on the "delete" link and select open in a new window. Click on your original PM window letting the new window open in the background and repeat as necessary. Once you have deleted all you want to get rid of, minimize your main window and close the extras that now say "deletion sucessful"

You can then click on the Private Messages link to make sure you got the ones you wanted.

The multiple deletion feature is coming, I'm not sure when yet. Thanks Dave, and anyone else who is deleting your old PM's! You wouldn't beleive how many PM's are stored in the database! It helps a lot when you delete the ones you don't need anymore.
