I came across the video in my local magic shop called Let's Get Flurious by Gary Kurtz and it caught my attention. One routine actually.
"Trio In Three" and "Copper/Silver Continuation" were the names of the effects. Could somebody explain the effect of this? I'm betting this has something to do with coins. I already know "Flurious" is a jumbo coin act. Do these tricks require gaffs? Are these the only 3 effects in the video that have to do something with coins? Are these strong coin routines?

Yes, Trio in 3 requires gaffs, it is the best routine I have seen using what it uses - its not easy but it is definitely something to see & learn from, copper silver continuation is cool too, he uses some pretty old ideas in a really smooth way, watching him do it made me really 'get it'.
I believe those are all the coin routines on this video but if you get Flurious AND his Creating Magic video -- you will have a lot of work cut out for you as 'Misty like a dream' is a really nice 3 coin routine, which is more like a full '3' coin act. You will probably be more likely to use Misty 'out of the box' as there are a lot less gaffs/ special props involved. In fact you might have them already. Strong? absolutely -- & Forced Thought, and hypothetical possiblites are great card tricks that I started using as well -- you really can't go wrong with anything by Gary Kurtz.

I'll second bigchuck's sentiments. The routines you asked about are top notch and I use both of them in my close-up sets.
Good luck |

As I've said before - Trio in Three is one of the top 5 best routined coin effects in magic (IMO).
Oddly enough, it is not in my working repertoire, mostly because it requires some table space (when hiding the two coins under the separate cards). |

There are a couple of old A1 videos of Gary Kurtz in action, with explanations.
Wonderful material.
...to all the coins I've dropped here

They are all quality routines. "Trio in Three" is the only effect on the tape requiring a gaff (you need a 2 Copper/1 Silver set, a C/S/B set will not work [unless you want to alter the handling quite a bit]). Even "Misty... like a dream" from his "Creating Magic" video only requires one gaff you'd have to buy (a Morgan s***l).
If you don't already have a 2 Copper/1 Silver set, you can pick up a Johnson set for around $35. Cheers, Wes |

I use this routine all the time. It's very powerful.

Thanks for the input regarding this video. I see most coin routines here require gaffs. In my country, it's hard to purchase gaff sets in my local currency. Anyway, are the coin sleights taught in the coin routines in this video worth it?

The bottom line is you can't go wrong with anything by Gary. Pick up anything you can on him...while you still can.

How many Jumbo Coins are required for Flurious routine so I can add it to my order when I purchase the video?
