You can add that Out of Order was created by myself. Smile

Thanks for that list! I've been looking for something like that! I've already cut'n'pasted it. But I have to agree with rowdy - Bicycle Built for Five shouldn't be in there.

Blizzard - packet trick? Smile

But - what about Double Back - (Jon Allen) semi examinable in that the clean cards always end in the specs hand!

Great list, looks like you have done a lot of work for it Smile
I don't mean to sound picky, but Paramount is not totally examinable.
It is an awesome effect though and I recommend it to everyone!

Also, Ricochet is not examinable unless you do a switch...which you can do to almost any effect to make it examinable.

I'm not knowledgable on the tricks in the list.
I'm not sure which ones were marketed and which ones are done with regular cards.
All I did was extract the names from the Looooong thread about examinable packet tricks.
I would very much like to see a new category (packet tricks)
We could make a different thread for each packet trick.
In fact, the subject could be made into a desirable book.
There was a good hint in the original thread on this subject...
When doing multiple packet tricks as an act...
Have a deck with a marker card dividing each packet.
As a packet is performed, place it on the bottom with the marker card and the
next packet will be on top of the deck.
This beats bringing out a different plastic wallet for each packet trick.

Good idea. I'm quite interested in packet tricks. I just love the way they work. (I only do about four though)

Contact Café Manager, Steve Brooks, and suggest it. It won't hurt.

Wow I feel honored to have made the list. My Queen's Tour was never made into a packet trick so I guess I would have to go into plain playing cards packet tricks. I thank Harry for publishing almost everything I ever dreamed of while in my youthful days. I guess you never know who's going to discover something you did 10, 20, 30 years down the road. Thank You, Hippie Torrales

Ken Brooke's Dutch Looper isn't examinable as you'll surely find out if you consult either of the referenced sources.

Rainbow cascade isn't examinable completely , but 2 of the cards are !
you are left with 4 very colourful reflective faces at the end , throw these 2 out front and let the spec pick these 1 or 2 up if they want to , they wont need to check them all they will be too busy picking themselves up from the floor.

Nice trick better than bike for 5...
Magic or just an illusion? it's a free choice .... isn't it?

I am a packet trickaholic, I believe I have most that has been mentioned. I strongly agree on a category for packet effects exclusively. Anyone interested in the history of packet's should purchase the book "Small but Deadly" by Paul Hallas if you are at all into the small packet effects this book is a must read.
Gandalf, I believe any effect using very few cards are considered "Packets"

Angelo Carbone, I was under the impression Out of Order was invented by Ron Frost?

Silent Shadow, the Rainbow Cascade I have is completely examninable, are you refering to the trick created by Roy Walton ?
The effect is the important thing, how you achieve it is not.......

Paul Diamond sold a packet trick that was great, and examinable: the spectator's and magician's card matched from a group of about 8 cards--one set red, one set blue. The kicker was when the rest of the cards were turned over.....they were all jokers (except for the matching cards).
Great climax, a worthy "pay-off" for the effort. I will try to find the name....of course I don't know if the trick is still aviailble. Maybe one of the dealers on the forum could tell me.

Roger,
The trick is called Kopy Kat and was originally put out by Nick Trost. The effect can be made up by yourself as it uses regular cards.

Rennie, I assure you I invented Out of Order many years ago. After it hit the market and reviewed in Genii Magazine, countless knock-offs emerged. I have around a dozen knock off out of orders in my collection from around the world.

The suggestion that Ron Frost created it is new to me. What is the trick called (his version) and where can I see a link to it online? I do hope it is not the same trick as mine.

Best

Angelo
