I was just wondering if anybody had tried making "Knotty Knot" with a different color knot. If anyone has, I would be curious to hear how your audience reactions have changed. For example... Do you think a green knot would play as well as red?? Or, is this just me being anal-retentive??? Smile

I think by most accounts the bright color red that is the colored section on the rope has biologically the highest impact visually. The whole point of the move is to the surprise of the colored knot - the more striking it is to the eye the stronger the audience reaction. It doesn't need to be fixed....

I agree. But, I haven't performed this as much as others but recently brought it back in action. I have mostly used this for children's shows. Curious to how many use this effect on a regular basis...............

When I was doing magic, I loved this effect and used it in every show. I tried it with red, yellow and green rope. Blue was lost on the stage, yellow was ok, green seemed to spark some interest, but RED by far was the color.

In over forty years of this "stuff" I've learned that there is no such thing as being too rich, too thin, or using too much red in your show.

(I'm doing best in the Red!)
