What do you guys find are good ways to transition between effects that might not be simular to eachother? Just curios.

If the effects are properly set into your show as entertainment (not just isolated curiosities), there will be no need for a "transition." There is no more certain mark of someone who loves "the tricks" more than he loves the work of entertaining than a show consisting of "that was Trick A - now here's Trick B!"

Look at any Copperfield show (though I know his name is invoked too often) - A magical effect is set, or an otherwise unconnected series of effects, are set into an entertaining context, either with a story, a single volunteer, any decent premise. The setting is often far more time-consuming than the actual effect. And when the sequence is over and the applause occurs, it's time to go straight to the next sequence - cold, no "transition" other than waiting for the applause to quiet. Any "transition" is really the set-up for the next story, unifying theme, or other premise.
