Next month I'll be hosting a dinner party at my house. A group of 8 of us will be eating dinner and socializing. It's a sit down formal dinner and I know I'll be asked to do a trick. I'd like to do something with the guests that involves a multiple prediction of some sort. Maybe something with their name cards or with something under their plates or chairs. Any ideas?

Your dinner guests will never be the same! Of course this effect is so much stronger with a borrowed deck of cards and might go over better when you're invited to someone elses house for dinner. |

For something fun and funny, try Nu Sense from Alain Nu's book, XXX Mentalism. It uses a borrowed watch, ring and key. Rick Maue's Terasabos uses coffee cups.

A chair prediction?
Perhaps at the beginning of the evening you tell them they are welcome to sit anywhere they like, then later you ask them to reach under their chairs where they find a card with their name on it.

I would definetely give PK Silverware a shot. Either that or some of the verbal forces in the beginning of Banachek's book "Psychological Subtleties".
Osterlind's Change of Mind might be good for about 3 of the people.
Thanks! Scott B.

If you are single, bend some silverware. If you are married, better ask permission first.

This is months late, but a routine built around the Mind Power Deck can be a real stunner. I did it at a dinner party I gave recently, and it floored my guests. I also did it at a dinner party at someone else's apartment, with similar results, using a "borrowed" deck. (I noticed a deck of red bikes on my hosts' shelf, and I switched my MP deck for theirs, later switching them back.) The routine I've come up with, using ideas from Derren Brown's "Smoke," Jay Sankey's "Paperclipped," and a Banachek card divination routine whose name eludes me at the moment is, I think, pretty strong. If you're interested, PM me, and I'll describe it.
