Magic Nic, or Nick Magick.
Seriously, just use your own name and let your tricks speak for themselves. You don't see David Blaine or David Copperfield changing their names (or did they...?) |

Hi Nick
I might try just introducing myself by saying that my name's Nick and that my Dad cut himself shaving on the morning of my christening. I'll let you know how I get on... Nick

I am going to have to go with Brad Burt not knowing you. There is something powerful in using your own name. Especially when everyone else is using the common short form. All inall you will have to take a look at yourself, your own style and what image you are projecting as a magician.

How about Nicholas Saint? Nice play on the name, still mysterous.
Or, perhaps, Nicholas Sharp. On the lighter side, you could a Russian Genius known as Mensa-Nik (or, is that Mensa-vik?) Just a couple of serious ones and a silly, for fun. Lee Darrow, C.H.

Remeber if your tryin to make a name for yourself.. just keep the one you have.. the tricks are what count.. all the greats are single.. houdini, professor. Nick will work.. worry more on your performance
The greatest tick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

Hi,
First you take your name and shorten it - Nick. Then you add the name of a famous cut price supermarket - Aldi. Put them together - Nickaldi. Easy! George. (dosen't work with my name!) |

Knowing nothing about you, here are some ideas:
1) Nick Magic (has a good ring to it) 2) Beatnick (or something with that in it) Chris (No, don't use that one, its my name ) |

I personally feel I have some great "mysterious" names that aren't burnt out.
Nick the arcane Enigmatic Nick Nickunnatural Alchemist Nick Please don't add -DINI to your name and avoid adjectives like "Amazing, great , etc..." Oh yeah One last hint. Truely feel who you are and find THAT ONE word that describes you. Think about it. If you could describe yourself in one word, what would it be? |

Take a hint from David Copperfield and call yourself Nicholas Nickleby. It will stick in people's minds, they'll say gee sounds familiar. Charles Dickens has already done quite a bit of PR for you along with Hollywood and Broadway. He's a stand up character who fights for the rights of oppressed orphans. You don't have to stick a vowel at the end of your name, we Italians hate it and you avoid the overworked 'the Great' or 'Amazing' especially if your just starting out. You can even shorten it to Nick Nickleby and it sounds okay. If you do coin magic this is a good pun too.

What I find that helps is to use things from your personal life such as pet names, childhood heroes, etc. Ehrich Weisz his stage name, Harry Houdini, by naming himself after his Childhood hero, Robert Houdin. I use the name of my favorite Spiderman vilian and my first initial for my stage name and it works pretty well for me. PM me and I can give you some one on one help if you're interested. I noticed you live in my area, maybe we can get together and I can teach you some new tricks for your act.

Ooh, I know! You could talk to dead people like John Edwards pretends to and bill yourself as Nickropheliac. Wait, lemme think some more about that last one... Regards, -jjg |

Ah, well.
Here's my friend's website: http://www.trickyniki.com What about "Knickerbocker", "Panic", or "Electro Nick"? I call myself "David Copperfield". Easy to remember and people associate it with good magic. ;-)
