HI,
I find myself (more and more these day's) reading posts about unreliable members here, members slagging off each other and back stabbing. Would it not help to have some kind of feedback system? Like ebay do? If someone sold something, traded something or really helped another member in some way they could be given a point. I know there is the number of posts counter but I read so many posts that just say "lol" or "yeah, I agree" etc so it is not really a fair way of judging someone's input... If there was a feedback number guven by other users I know this would make me feel more confident in dealing with someone or trading etc. Just a thought... |

I would agree, I happen to be a person on the receiving end at the moment of some negative feedback, which I feel is very harsh. Just because someone hasnt received a parcel within a week, they are threatening to take serious action. I have done nothing wrong, I kept to my part the deal, I packaged up the item wanted and it was sent to the address given, yet still they persist in trying to make me feel guilt that it hasnt arrived, I don't control the post office, so I cant tell them what to do, though I would like to. The other thing is a trick that was sent which was broken. I had a perfect holdout for sale and someone wanted to trade winter spirit for it. The perfect holdout was brand new and still ins its packaging, but when winter spirit arrived, it was chipped and broken, so I called off the deal and have sent it back, which in my mind is fair enough. I don't see it fair though that these people are trying to give me a bad name on the Café when I have done nothing wrong

Interesting idea, however the Let's make a deal forum is provided as a courtesy to all members and the rules clearly state that the Café is in no way involved with this area nor does it take any responsibility for transactions. The cliche "buyer beware" fully applies here. It would be difficult to control a rating system with this type of board. A member may be a great poster, but terrible with business transactions. The ratings would probably be skewed by those that corresponded but never did business with that member.
While not a perfect system, that is basically why we require a minimum of 50 posts to gain access to the Let's make a deal forum.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your reply... I understand copletley what you are saying. To allow a system which could "endorse" posters could lead some to assume that the Café is liable for the posters actions. |
