So I've been trying to decide if it's worth the investment to buy one of those coin wallets, you know the ones with the individual slots for each of your coins. Does anyone use one of these and if so is it worth the money?

The one I own works pretty well. The leather has to stretch a little with use and each slot in the long roll-up wallet I have will hold three .50 cent size coins. It is handy for travel and ease of access. That said, I usually buy the vinel spring closure coin wallets for home with a piece of note card cut a bit longer than the top of the purse so I can write the name of the gimmicked coinset for quick identification. Hope this info is useful. Jess Cone

They sell them at the magic shop I frequent here in Albuquerque, it's called the Magic Juggler shop, they sell on line too I believe. Here's the link to their site: http://www.themagicjuggler.com/, you may actually have to call the number they have listed there.

Lowe Pro makes a memory card wallet that works perfectly for coins or coin sets. It costs less than $10 and is available at stores like Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. You can also buy it online. I have attached the link to the item below. If you click on the "alternate views", you can see the individual mesh compartments. I only use half-dollar size coins, but this case holds my shell set, my C/S/B set, coin unique, scotch and soda, and several other coins. It is sufficiently padded to protect your expensive coins, has mesh windows so that you can see the coins in each compartment, and has a zipper so that your coins stay put.

I know it sounds cheezy, but you can make your own coin/card holders, special pockets, etc. out of duct tape using the same methods for making duct tape wallets... placing the sticky sides of the tape together, then cut, shape and hone into what you need.
Works pretty well actually! Bruce |

Years ago I purchased a coin wallet that held all of my gaffed coins. It was great, and I've never seen anything like it in the market place since. I now have the ability to have a similiar design produced in large quantities. I have already started the process and have received samples. The wallet holds 12 half dollar sized coins. The quality of the leather and construction is top notch. It really is a very nice wallet. This is my question to all who read this; is there a market for this wallet? I am NOT taking orders...YET. But, I would appreciate some feedback, not on the design, but on whether or not you would buy one. The wallet will sell for around $25.95, I say "around" because it could change slightly, but I don't expect it to. This is a very large up front investment on my part, so I really would like some honest feedback on the viability of this product.
I have uploaded some detailed photographs of the sample. You can view them at: http://members.aol.com/sky67/coin_wallet/ I would appreciate all emails to be sent to: kidwell2401@comcast.net Thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks for any response. Steven Kidwell |

I must admit it looks very nice, but for me it would be too big.
I do a lot of table hopping and although I know this would fit in my pocket, I wouldnt carry that many coins. On the other hand it appears as though it would be perfect for storing coins during transit in a close up case. your only concern is that there are already other similar items on sale for magicians, and those that have them, may not need another one. I have been as honast as I could... but it looks great and I DO think you would sell a few... get in touch with a dealer and see if they would stock it. good luck! In Magic Steve Dela |
