Can anybody tell me something about the effect "Thought Crystal"? It was made by Kaymar Magic, and as far as I know is no longer build. Here is the effect:
A spectator freely chooses a card from the pack (all the cards are different) and is asked to write the name of the card on a pad. Alas, you do not have anything to write with. Undaunted, you tear off a piece of paper, crumple it and ask the spectator to hold it to their forehead, asking them to merely concentrate on their chosen card. You show a small clear see-through glass disc, explaining that it is a flat crystal ball. You can pass this around for inspection if you like. You now ask the spectator to place the crumpled up paper on the disc. You then touch it with a lit match and, whoosh, it explodes in a burst of light …. There, engraved on the previously clear glass disc, which has been visible at all times, is the name of their chosen card. I´m just curious... Magixx

Wonderful. I love these old routines, which are classics and still useful today, and I like the essay about the "Vernon Touch"....
