I was speaking to a magician friend about base building and in order to help him out, I threw some 3d pictures on a webpage with the steps I took in building my first base a few years ago.

I just thought I'd throw it up here and share it with the Café members.

As the page says, this is not the EXACT look of the base. It was merely a quick illustration to get this person started.

Illusionman,

I had a silver frame on top with pull down curtains. I used a gobo on a spotlight to immitate a shadow slowely forming within the structure. The top of the box was a frame with a paper covering.

To appear I simply stood up and ripped through the paper on top of the box.

As it was one of my first base tables, I was working on a very low budget. It worked quite well for having been so cheap.

Wow that sounds like a great illusion. I made a base for the Doll House illusion and one for the Sword Box illusion.
