How many here have started looking at beanie babies as props?
They are ubiquitous and cute. The come in colors and the beans can be replaced with foam core, and magnets inserted....
...to all the coins I've dropped here

From the perspective of a Yankee living in the south and seeing them fought over one month and sitting for sale lined up on a car hood the next, I think they are actually the new Confederate money... so I suppose there's another starting point.

I've considered the small beanies as final loads for my Gazzo cups many a time, but never acted on it.

My idea would be to take the stuffing out and fill them with sponge ball material. That way they could be compacted into a very small space allowing for a very spectacular production akin to the Million Dollar Mystery w/o all the hooha.
Then again ever since the craze began and the dang things were selling for tons of money, I've wanted to take the stuffings out of something!

We were in Scotland when there were a couple of new releases that were related to various UK countries and Ireland. I wouldn't use real Beanies -- not because of the possiblity of offending a collector, but because they are so expensive. If you got to one of the import web sites, such as US Toy, you can find all sorts of nifty small plush toys that would be excellent.

I don't use Beanie Babies, but I do use small wind up toy chick's. They look quite real, and get a great response when they "walk" around your table.
One more thing; you don't have to worry about them out growing your cups either. MM

At least Beanie Babies are good for something. I remember back when a gift shop close by got burgled just for these stupid Beanies..... whatever...
Why can't people invest in something smart, like Tulips!!! hahahaha!!! I live not far from US Toy, and I agree with Bill. I have found more ideas for loads there, Rubber Eyeballs, Rubber Eightballs, etc. You know, carny stuff!

You are a student of history, I see! I told several of my friends that Beanies were the dumbest investment in recent history, except maybe the "dot coms." Like the Dutch and English learned, you can't eat 'em, and they have no intrinsic value. For the ultimate "carny stuff" load, do you think you could fit Philip Klein under a cup?

Do beanie babies still fetch a good price? I thought they went south a while ago.
... Btw, tulip bulbs are very tasty. |

If they went south, they kept on going because the craze has long passed here. Oh, a figure of speech... I get it...
The tulip reference was funny! Now there was an investment to remember!

Also a yankee in the south for 28 years here I am using a "BB" as a final load to a trick I have searched for for 30+ years. I am doing Vernon's walnut trick as was recently released a year ago and yep (tongue in cheek) I end with a squirrel in the can. A nice touch to a really wonderful trick. found the bb squirrel on ebay where the shipping cost more than the thing.
