You enquire if your spectator has ever had their mind probed. On replying no, you offer to show them a demonstration of REAL MIND READING.
You hand them an envelope, the type you get photos back from the processors in, and within are a selection of pictures, in this case taken on a day trip to London. All are of different places / locations but are all famous, in that they will be readily identifiable to all who see the pic. The spec chooses a picture in a more than fair way, they simply turn the pile of pictures face down and while your back is turned they cut a few off and select the picture they cut to, or they could select the next one, or the one prior to the one they cut to, it really is that fair. The Spectator is asked to look at the picture intently and imprint the image firmly on their mind. And then asked to make sure the picture is put out of sight, or back in the envelope with the others, or burnt, or eaten or posted to a friend in N.Y. This really is a fare routine. The performer then with all the theatrical pain of childbirth divines the thought of picture and replicates it on a standard sheet of plain photocopy paper, or in a pad, or on a clipboard, or on a white board, or on a blackboard, or on the back of a fag packet. No it really is that fair. But, not only can the perf replicate the thought of picture, he can do it to exactly the same scale and dimetions as the original picture and with all the same level of detail as the picture merely being thought of by the spectator. There is more. This allows for the spectator to, having no knowledge of the selection, in a totally hands off way, read the mind of spec' and describe exactly the picture in their mind. I have been using this for about a year, and have had fantastic results with it. If anyone is interested please respond. If there is enough interest I will get some made up and put it out. Thanks Glenn Collins

Glenn I published something very similar back in October in my lecture notes. The effect is called "Photo Reading". This effect, however, is completely impromptu and allows one to use a set of borrowed photographs. The best part? The performer never has to have had to look through the photos but yet still some how manages to describe the thought of photograph in full detail including events that happened off camera when the photo was taken. The cards are spread face down and they simply pull one from the spread. They can change their mind any time they'd like, it is also that fair.
I find using photographs to be very powerful, even more so when they belong to the person who is doing the thought projection. I've been using this effect for over six years with great success. I am very interested in the second part of your effect where you stated that one spectator may read the mind of another spectator and describe an image that the first spectator is projecting. Did I understand that correctly? Kindest Regards, -George Tait |

George: missunderstanding, the Performer can read the mind of the spec' without ever having seen or handled the pics.
Matt: No this is a totaly different principle from Bob's. Thanks, glenn.
