Can someone give me a bit of advice as to what I should order...
psi series(Banachek) OR mind mysteries (Osterlind) Im sure theyre both gems, but I'm looking for the one that supply the best for close up...not stage... Thanx Baba |

They both ARE gems. They both have an equal amount of close-up. Banacheks set has a volume in muscle reading which is great impromptu and not as hard to learn as you might think (you may already know how to do it) Richard Osterlind has a volume on his card stack which is also awesome. I don't really know what to tell you so maybe you should go for what effects you like the best off of the ads. You can't go wrong with either one. You'll love both sets.

Richard's "Easy to Master" series should also be considered -- some terrific stuff in there

What about Max Maven's series? It's a must have also! All those listed above are great purchases. All have close-up though some say they are for stage they all are performed for rather small groups on the DVD's. I suggest as others, read the effects and choose the series that suits your style. I found some items I use on all the above DVD series listed even the ones promoted as stage.

In my opinion, if you're really into pure mentalism, you should go with the following purchase order:
1: Osterlind ETMMM 2: Banacheck Psi 3: Maven Videomind 4: Osterlind MM This is the order I wished I did things, in retrospect. |

It's Mind Mysteries for me. Mind Mysteries Volume 1 explains an entire, professional show that is very strong and wonderful. Volume 2 is also a must - many applications and again, very strong.
I do not think much of Easy to Master Mental Miracles...IMHO, not as powerful or believable as Mind Mysteries...too many unsightly props for me, Tom. |

If you use cards MM 2....if you want to build up a show MM 1...if you want learn how to perform with nothing PSI 3...if you like psychokinesis pSI 4....
There is a lot of good stuff out so it is better ,in my opinion as a beginner, to focus on something very specific in order to spend less money and to perform better and in a more consistent way... However I have found that FOR ME what is necessary to start aren' t effects, what I need are tools(cold reading, hypnosis,MR,mental feat) that let me perform effects with this charateristics: 1) Totally improumptu 2)Repetible effects 3) Totally undetectable even if I go wrong 4) Always open doors at coincidences or real physics phenomena... That's why I suggest PSI 3...but I thing It lack of theory...for that there is something free in internet about hypnosis that I have found of interest... |

Well..not that anyone was wondering...but I scored both sets and love them...
with that said, the Breakthru system is the closet thing to a real miracle... Tis the best thing to ever happen to cards, nevermind mentalism.... |

Mind Mysteries is Osterlind's present work. ETMM is his performances/explanations of the classics (Anneman, Koran etc).
