Hey, I am very interested in this item. Can anyone tell me what they know of it?
Regular balloons? Dependable? It's $400, but sounds like a dream...(I will have to save!) Link: http://www.hanklee.org/xcart/customer/pr......p;page=1 Description: Dan Birch's Laser-Thru-Balloon - a magical trip into the 21st Century! Blow up a regular round balloon. Bring out your Laser-Lit rod. It looks like something Luke Skywalker would use. Or something James Bond would use to escape from certain death! Pass the Laser-Lit rod right through the balloon. The rod goes in one side and comes out the other. And, the balloon doesn't burst! Remove the rod from the balloon. Then, pop the balloon to prove it is real! The Laser-Lit rod operates on two 9-volt batteries and comes complete with instructions and protective case. Thanx |

I would think it's the same trick as the needle through balloon except the laser glowing gadget gives it a greating looking effect. The laser gadget goes through the same area of the balloon as the needle does.

I shared a bill with a performer recently who used this item. Let me tell you, that it looks even more impressive backstage than it does in the audience.
It works baically on the same principle as the regular but when the laser rod goes thru and the stage lights are dimmed a bit, this looks great. Only you can decide if its worth the cash. S. Patrick |

Aaron:
if you do decide to get it, I know a magic dealer that has it listed for 100 dollars less than the price you quoted. Robert. |

There is a similar version sold by Hank Lee. I cannot recall the name of it. It does not use a gas filled bulb like the one mentioned in this thread so the bulb in the version sold by Hank Lee (he sells both versions) is less fragile and will last longer. In addition, that version sells for about $200.00 compared to $400.00.

But I think the laser is much bigger than the normal needle we use for the ballon. How come? is that laser will work with any same balloons?

I used Laser through the balloon in my shows for several years as a conjunction trick with lights through the girl -- it was an explanation where I succefully penetrated, took out the lasewr then and popped the balloon to words explaining that light and molecular structures can be maniipulated by mad scientists.
I had two of them -- one for back-up that I never needed. I did break one in rehearsal once -- but Dan fixed it quickly and inexpensively. lso tipped me to a much better formula to prepare rub-on things. Expemsive? Middle of the road, actually.for good professional, well made equpment. Maintenance was easy -=- and I was buying balloons in bulk for use. Waving it (lit) in the air before penetration gave it an extra dimension of color and moveent.
