I got some-the quality is horrible.

ps: does anyone know how much it costs to have special cards printed by the us playing card co. They have the option on there site, but I was hoping someone had some figures. I would imagine it to be the same as getting records printed up or sumthin... thanks...

I too was interested in creating my own 'new' Bicycle deck, but the initial capital needed is a little prohibitive. The minimum run is 10,000 decks at a minimum of $1.10 (may range up to $1.50) per deck, $11,000 total minimum.

Here's an idea (uh-oh...)

Split the cards and create a regular-faced card with a pink or baby blue back (think: Stranger's Gallery, also!)...

I'll bet Cards By Martin has already found a use for these... Smile

UPDATE: April 8 2005

Just found two sky blue decks at Target-Greatland...Wal-greens no longer has them (around here, anyway)...gonna shoot over to the Cape Coral Target...see if I can find any more...thanks for posting this!

I wish I lived in america, you cant find those sort of cards ANYWHERE, not even the internet (UK deliv.), I cant find black tigers only on the internet, and then id have to spend £20 on cards. Even then they are £6 per deck. Standard blue and red bikes are £3 from the city per deck (the one tiny shop ive found which does them), which is a lot more than americans are paying, someone mentioned at some point that they got 12 pack for $12 I think, which is about £6.

As a rule, Black Tigers are only available to anyone on the internet. There are some other magic dealers who purchased them to sell in their birck and mortar stores, but they're few and far between. Ellusionist is solely an olnine store though.

I have a deck of blues, and my friend who works at Target got me some pinks today. under the "fashion cards" section. I've never seen them at walgreens, however they sell lots of casino cards at walgreens (IE golden nuggets etc) and they DO have a large variety of brands.

the stock on these is substantially thinner than the black decks. they're really pretty cards IMO. guess it just depends on whether you want to use them or not. other cards work better for a lot of moves for the sake of colors. and the ink will wear off on the outer edges of these but this isn't a HUGE deal as far as concealing a card in the deck goes.

I don't see how the font is different though ben? did you just have completely different cards?

I was not thrilled with the cards. I wish they had left the faces as regular cards and only have changed the backs.

Because these pink and blue cards are thinner (or at least flimsier) than standard Bicycles, I don'y want to do anything with them other than put them in a drawer with my other collectibles. If I can find a nice little packet trick, however, I will probably use them...any ideas?

I'd be up for that definately Jessiah,

unfortuantly theres not a great deal out here which isn't in US.

All I can get is standard decks from a tiny little shop.

Everything else can only be got from internet shops (mostly us deliv only)

Well, I finally got over to Target and picked up a couple packs of the sky blue bikes. I must say that they seem thinner than standard bikes eventhough they seem to have more ink on them. I haven't gotten around to actually using them, but they seem to handle the same. And at $3 a pack, I won't feel bad using them for a T&R routine Smile

I haven't had any problems splitting them. I've made a couple of blue/light-blue double backers and they handle fine.

hhhmmm. I wonder how the pale-blues would work as a hofzinser card? I'll have to go and try that.

The only store which I have seen the powder blue and light pink colored reversed Rider back decks is TARGET. Perhaps Target was chosen as a test market?

Jessiah said; "...which card game package would have those large bike cards? is there a specific game package that I should look for at the hobby shop? I think you mentioned something about this... thanks"

THE UNITED STATES PLAYING CARD CO does indeed sell decks which showcase some of the back designs from days gone by. The design you mention (Bicycle High-Wheel Design circa 1800's) can be found in all their glory in a set simply called Solitaire Games. The box contains an instruction booklet for various games of solitaire and two decks of Bicycle decks (One red, one blue) which have the Bicycle High-Wheel design. Other game sets (example - Spades, etc) feature the famous League Backs, Fan Backs, and Eagle Backs. If you're looking for something different, then picking up one of these sets may well be worth the trip. Hope this helps. Smile

I have a few sets of the different decks that Steve is referring to, if anyone wants them. They were bought and I never use them. If anyone would be interested - I don't want to make a profit, just get back what I paid and shipping.

PM me and we can work something out.
