Well it looks like another "exposure" book is making its way out into the public. I read that this recent tome includes the "Zombie", "Elephant from Denmark", "Solid Ghost", and "Balducci Levitation", among others.
I have no problem with 'teaching' books, but magic secrets have become too available to anybody that thinks they want to become a magician. I think we as magicians are going to have to be more careful as to whom we sell to and maybe have a list of effects that we consider to be "public domain". Otherwise, it is unavailable. As I was growing up, secrets were hard to come by. You held on to each one because it was such a treasure. That one book or two you got each year were poured over for weeks to learn all the nuances of each routine. Now books, videos, DVDs are released almost on a daily basis for the masses in search of the almighty dollar. I have no problem with that to a certain extent, but the result of this excess is what we are now experiencing...the trivialization of the art of magic. And this book is just another nail in our coffin.

What is it that makes this an "exposure" book rather than just another magic book?

Every problem contains the seeds of its own solution. Unfortunately every problem also contains the seeds of an infinite number of non-solutions, so that first part really isn't super helpful.
