Hello-
I recently posted this in another section... maybe it wasn't the proper area, as I didn't get much response.
I'm fooling around with an "appearing sword"... the type that "slides" out.
It expands from about 9 or 10 inches to about 3 feet.
Just wondering if anyone might have some good production ideas for it (stage/parlor). I don't want to use something cheesy like a production box. Maybe a more natural way of producing it.
My initial intent was to produce it from scarves (like T.H.I.S.) or similar.
The sword is beautiful as it reflects in the light, but it's a little too heavy for the scarves.
Just thought I'd toss it out for some ideas. Thanx!

Check out Michael p. lair's video on fantasio candles, he has a wonderful candle routine ending in an appearing sword.

What I mean was that it ends with a production of an appearing sword.

Another idea for you is to do it based from a table steal principle. I can go into more detail if you PM me on this. You basically produce your silks, lay them across the table, then produce the last silk in the air as you make your table steal/ Then it is easy to ptroduce the sword from within these silks. If you want more info. please PM me for specifics.

You can also use this idea by doing it as a body load on yourself. I can also help you with these ideas also.

The Black Hole gimmick By Peter Loughran can be used to produce sword. There is one on sale in the for sale forum.

KN- Black Hole won't work for this as the Sword doesn't have the right "properties"

Awww figured as much. But you might be able to rig up a hold out device based upon some ideas I told you about in the PM. Give it a try. I have used it in the past.
