I just discovered a great way to carry and store popcorn salt for the Long Salt Pour. I found that the Joy or Dawn Liquid dish soap bottle are great for storing salt. Clean the bottle well and air dry completely. The pour spout is perfect for filling the gimmick and salt shaker.
Hope you all can use this tip. |

Another idea is to keep it in the salt shaker and just put a piece of tape over the holes during transport.

MY salt has a very wide top on it so I usually just carry it in a jar and I am able just to pour the salt that has fallen out back into the salt shaker before the show.

The Kozak Salt Gimmick is going for about 1/3 of its original price on ebay. I have never seen it so cheap.

I came this close [] to buying the Kozak Gimmick, but saw one and didn't like the fit. I bought one from James Riser, and I really like it a lot. I store the salt in a plastic cup with a lid and use a small funnel to fill it.

I found a gimmick that is almost the exact size as a Kozak Gimmick.
I call it my "pour man's salt gimmick" and it costs about $15.

I provided the info on this to purchasers of the last batch of busker's pouches as a freebie. But I'll provide a hint.
Hint #1 http://www.theambitiouscard.com/gallary.pl?pourmans p.s. I painted it myself. The color was just right. I got lucky the first time. p.p.s. So what's wrong with just using the gimmick itself to carry the salt in with a little bit of plastic wrap and a rubberband or a cork or ....

If you use the Morton's popcorn salt, it already comes in a perfect holder for carrying. It's called "The Salt Box." It holds slightly more salt than the largest salt gimmick. And it's FREE!

I use silica sand rather than salt. Like they used to use in ash trays. It's white and isn't caustic.
