HELP: I've been looking for a smoke system - something to give the effect that Copperfield had when he "ironed out" the creases of his torn and restored baseball card.

I was looking into Ultra smoke - but refills are too expensive and the thing is dangerous. Can someone please point me in the right direction of a device that will let me produce smoke from my fingers (hopefully while wearing short sleeves)

I've heard of "smoke from anything" and "in a puff of smoke" or am I stuck with ultra smoke?

There's not much information on it yet, but there is something called "Little smoke", which is sold from a vendor or two in France. They ship overseas.
This is a chemcial effect, not a gimmick, as far as I know.
Check this thread out:

and this one for "Smoke from Anything", which is gimmick-based:

You have to remember that when Dave performs TV magic, there are quite a few extra technicians on board. I suspect that he is not sporting a new gimmick when he turned the coal into a diamond (Bermuda Triangle show) or ironing out the baseball card. With the camera so close on his hands, he could have done it a thousand ways. Mystician's suggestions are the best.
I'm not confused... I just don't know yet.

David was actually using a modified method to Ultra Smoke 2000.

If you want to type all this in you will go right to a product that uses safe chemicals for making smoke. If you are clever you will be able to convert this into a very useful device. I am presently working on ideas right now. Let's race!

Jim, have you seen the keychain version of the zero blaster? That's just amazing, I'm sure that can be modded into something very useful. I just wish they made a keychain version of the wizard stick, that'd make life a little easier.
So, the race is on ! But you'll beat me by miles, you have waaay more experience in this stuff ! (Not just fire and smoke effects, but modding and inventing in general) Smile

Yes, I would agree that the key chain version of the wizard stick would be a better trick...for magicians.
Try taking one of these apart, I am going nuts. Still trying...good luck.

I got one of these wizard sticks from Jim, and the smoke was outstanding! Far more than I get with mini smoke II, and the smoke is totally safe too.

If you want to do smoke, this a terrific item, at a great price on eBay.

I wouldn't mind a smaller version, but now that I know how good it is, I can dfinitely push forward to find a smaller one.

Any luck with disassembling the Wizard Stick and building it into props?
is it an easy task of unscrewing a couple of screws, or is it a fixed plastic molded thing that cannot be broken open?

It is molded. It has screws. The wires are sealed into the plastic. I have a couple ideas.

Too bad. I was planning to disect it and have the battery unit in one block and the actual delivery tube in another block connected by wires, so I could build it in props....

Ah...Wizard sticks, you can have fun with those...I put mine in my jacet during Physics last year...fun stuff. I have actually also been looking for the "ironing" effect. I was looking to iron a card into a screenprint on a t-shirt (if anyone has any helpful ideas with that...)
