Corey is right, he is not using the holdout.
I own the holdout by Steven's Magic, and its not for that purpose. I also have the gimmick that Peter Marvey used, but not made by him . I got it many years ago from a Japanese magician. He handmade only six sets for sale to magicians only. But I think now all have been sold out. |

About the open fingers production... a while ago on http://www.magicvideodepot.com they have a ciggarette vanish where the ciggarrete is taped to their thumb... Sometimes when I'm bored, I put a TT half way on and then stick in a hot-rod and push the TT on and then I show it then I open my hands and it has vanished.

kardini,
Sorry, but your gimmick is not the one Marvey used. After Marvey produced each card, he dropped it to the floor. With your gimmick, that's not possible. And I've heard he hasn't sold the exact method anywhere. Michael J.

Michael J.,
Sorry, but you is wrong... In MY gimmick this ALSO is perfectly possible (it is NOT permanently fixed)!!! In the reality I also drop "it" to the floor it with the LAST(?) playing card produced with this gimmick. The only difference is in a "small detail"(do you saw?), that in my COMPLETE routine, it is not necessary... My video "on-line" is short to save KBs and to facilitate the download in internet... What I don't understand: It's a manipulation act. But if he uses a gimmik, why is it still manipulation? or do I understand something wrong?

I do, in fact know the method set forth by Mr. Marvey. I actually learned it from the Amazing Johnathan. For ethical reasons, I really cannot explain...however, I would love to if I could. You guys are thinking way too deep into this. Think....the most obvious way to conceal a card on stage. I really can't say more than that.

Buy one of these (http://fljerry.com/deluxe-card-catcher-p-163.html) and modify it. I got one YEARS ago (like twenty) and that's what I did. Simple. I don't do Manipulations anymore and have long since lost or misplaced my gimmick. BUt think appearing flower crossed with the above gimmick. HOpe that helps, and I don't hink I crossed any lines.

I really do not understand how or why many people think they have the right to know Peter Marvey's gimmick for his card production. It is not anyone's right to know unless Peter Marvey wishes to devulge the secrets.
The interesting thing is, even if it was on the market, most would say it is junk and not worth the asking price. Mr. Magician says he would pay, $300, so take that money and do your homework, many have given a lot of clues just start researching. It has angles and can only be done on a large stage with great distance. I will give you a hint, it is a card catcher. If you know what the is, it would take you minutes to know exactly what Peter Marvey has created. That being said, none of you take into consideration Peter Marvey's costume. This costume allows him to do the things he does. Unfortunitely the video on the internet, cuts away just before the beginning of the card productions. This leaves many questions for proper utilization of the gimmick. |

Wao... this is better then the Peter Marvey gimmick , his is more visible from the front seasts he uses transparent relatevely thick plastick modified cards catcher .and I think 3 cards is enough though the act this production should only enforce empthy hands for other methods .but I believe from what I saw its easier to produce only two cards with your method due to the card holder but your method inspired me to creat something else !!

I honestly still don't know exactly what a cardcatcher is. Shame on me. Do you have a link?
It makes me happy I inspired you to build something. Let me see as soon as you have finished it Is Peter Marvey really using gimmicks one can see from the first row? That is somewhat .... desillusionating. I didn't know that. |

Wow! That open finger production is very nice. I'm searching for months over months for this technique. And I'm seriously don't know what a Card Catcher is? In the video I see a normal card production?

Sorry, I was away for a while. No, I did not know what a card catcher is. The video doesn't show a "normal" production, but everything I used I created myself.

I own few versions of differents gimmick to produce that effect ,
anyway the Marvey Version was already explained before him on some books actually I don't remember wich one , whit that gimmick used from Peter can be produced a lot of cards if wanted. Anyway it's a really basic gimmick compared whit others more superb than it. |
