Several excellent routines for Copper, Silver and Brass have been mentioned on the various groups..., Doc Eason's and James Lewis' to name a couple..., but for years I've heard about the possibility of finishing in the specs hand. This most agree makes for the strongest magic.
Does anyone know specifically what routine might be out there that finishes in the spectator's hand? |

Cody's routine is really nice and worth checking out - but as is, it does not end in the spectator's hand as Towledge was asking for.

I like Cody's routine also! Although it doesn't end in the spectators hand, it does use the spectators hand during the routine and has a killer ending leaving you Clean! I'm not sure you can end clean using the spectators hand for a finish, unless you switch them somehow.

That's exactly what's crossed my mind ...how could you do a clean effect using the specs hand. This isn't scotch and soda or copper/silver.
A friend thought he saw a demo at a magic shop where the magi BRIEFLY dropped the Chinese and Mexican coins onto specs open palm (having changed them from the half) ...but then immediately retrieved the two coins and dump on the table/mat. |

You're right, it doesn't end in the spectator's hand. I have been working on a routine that is combo of Lewis and Cody Fisher. I like the two routines melded together.

Tom Gagnon has an excellent move called the "Tiddlywinks Change" that could be used on a spectators hand. The effect is incredible: you place the half dollar on the table (or their hand) and cover it with an ungaffed shot glass. The half dollar VISIBLY changes into the centavo and Chinese coin INSIDE THE SHOT GLASS! It is one of the most magical moves possible and is easy to do! You'll find it in Tom's excellent book, "Sleightly Original."

Gordan Prince has decided to release his work on the Copper, Silver, Brass. Cody came to Gordan asking for thoughts on the CSB, confessing he had no work on the effect. Gordan gave Cody permission to publish his routine in MUM, but instead Cody held on to it, watered it down, and released his take on Gordan's thinking on the Coin Video. Gordan was not pleased.
But fortunately it is in the pipeline for a major magazine and you will be able to see what some consider the finest CSB routine to come along in quite awhile. |

The C/S/B in the spectator's hand is a middle phase of J.C. Wagner's routine, I believe, or is it Doc Eason's? One of those bar guys did it, and it's published. You have to maintain a lot of spectator control, and because the cleanup is still in the pockets, the weaker effect using the pockets is the ending.
I have a different solution that you might like. I do the C/S/B without the usual gaff. (but with the usual alternative) It's a four phase routine. The first time, the audience hears the transposition (i.e. they hear the clinking of the two foreign coins in one hand, suddenly coming from the other hand, signaling the transposition--try doing that with your nested shells! The second transpo they see, it's just as good visually as the best shelled change. The third and the fourth transpositions occur in the spectator's hands. (although he's never holding more than one coin) the fourth transposition is a triple, with coins exchanging between your hand, his hand, and the locked coin purse, all without becoming confused. And there's a heck of a lot of other good stuff on the DVD too. Get it now, before I plug again!
