Many moons ago Im posted up that I was putting the finishing touches to a two DVD set of Gazzo on tour in the UK. I said at the time that I'd let people know when the project was finally completed. A recent review here in the Café reminded me that I had not informed you that the thing was ready!
The good news it's now available to purchase from http://www.magicpitch.com/ I'm totally biased in terms of the DVD but would like to hear from anyone who has the set with regards it's value to you. The film quality is at times less than good and I was concerned that this would detract from your enjoyment, I trust that it didn't! For those of you who are unaware of the project it's a record of Gazzo on Tour in the UK last summer. There is a full performance from a lecture and the discussion that followed (just under 2 hours) and then a bonus DVD with bits from different lectures including Gazzo describing in detail how he met Walter Scott. If you have a copy let me know what you think. Simon |

Simon,
I had a copy but Gazzo grabbed it from me. I haven't seen it in so long I can't remember specifically what was on it but I do remember it was all great stuff. A lot of Walter Scott information, a bunch of stuff on the cups and balls, his rope trick was great, and that is unfortunately all I can remember. I only had a chance to watch it once before Gazzo snagged it. Best, Dan- "MT is one of the reasons we started this board! I have a copy myself from Steve at Magicpitch. It's fantastic. I get new bits from it each time I watch it. I'm on my fourth viewing so far. Everyone get it.

Both DVDs are good, but I like the second, "bonus" DVD the best. That's where he gets down to telling street stories, you can see him play the "Gentleman's Game" with some unsuspecting participants, etc... This is the sort of "after the lecture" stuff that you normally don't see on DVDs.
It's great. Everyone should buy a copy. Heck, buy two just in case the first one wears out. Or buy three, they make good coasters.

The Alien "disclaimer us" has landed, therefore we are all in need of a universal translator before it destroys the World. I warn you, ignore this creator, do not feed and just think "happy thoughts" or you may want to make your self a tin foil hat.

Simon, I posted the review about it and I wanted to thank you for making this DVD. I agree with David, the bonus bits DVD is something I have watched more than the 1st disc. I learned a lot from these DVD's and I'm still learning every time I watch them which is about every other day now. To me, Gazzo's advice on forgetting about the packet tricks and working on projecting and interacting with the crowd hit home with me. A packet trick doesn't really work for 200 people on the street, does it?
I also liked the con game he played. He would have taken me for a few $$ too, had I been there. I've watched that over and over and it still gets me. |
