There's nothing chaste about Doug.

Why I was just chaste-izing this morning! One of the Gold Fish splashed me as I walked by...thinks he's Shamu...recieved a proper taliking to he did...
But back on thread...can't remember what decade it was...mid 70's possibly maybe 60's...but at one of the last REAL Burley Q shows that ran on 42nd street there was a Candy Butcher 'tween the acts....one of the Baggy Pants doubled up to push the sweets...if I remember correctly (and I usually do) the come on was a Watch as well as the cash. It was a funny pitch though. There were just a handfull of folks in the audience though so not much action. The only real Burlesque show I ever got to see..."Here Come The Judge!" and the hand Mirror blackout where the 'lady' drops the mirror on the floor between her feet and the Professor looks down and say's..."Why that's a picture of the bearded lady!" rim shot

I haven't read any mention of a neat book called The Compleat Pichman by Don Boles. It contains a number of pitches including Svengali and candy. There's also a script for a Jam Auction which runs 13 5x7 pages, single spaced. It comes up on used magic book lists from time to time.
I saw an older fellow do Jam Auctions at carnivals and flea markets here in Ontario, Canada a number of times. The last time being maybe 10 years ago. He didn't veer far from the script in Mr. Boles book. Amazing to watch.
