Ok...you're all likely correct but I swear that Vader voice in Sith was a bad impression...I'll buy it as JEJ if you can aim me at some credible info. I know voices and that was from the throat not the chest...maybe it was JEJ trying to sound like the wimpy whiny boy trying to sound like DV...I did larf out loud though when the voice came on. If it was JEJ than I retract my gafaws but it'll take some real evidence. Not that it matters what I think anyway...I liked the Lizard.

Rumor has it that two voices were digitally mixed to do the Vader voice in ROTS.
I liked the lizard too! One of those stuffed would make a heck of a zibit! |

To Doug and Cholly,
Here's some real evidence it was James Earl Jones' voice that was used in Sith. Check the fourth entry under his filmography. http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0000469/

Well, James Earl Jones admitted it in the tribute to Lucas at the Film Awards the other night. I guess that puts it to rest.

I read this rumor on one of those spoiler message boards about six months ago.
The two voices were (supposedly) Jones and Christensen, of course. Did anyone else hear of this? |

Eric, I find your lack of faith disturbing...
It's too bad for you; You're missing a truly magical experience. On the other hand I envy you since you can have the pleasure of seeing them in order for the first time. I won't even ask you what in this thread reminded you WHY you never saw one. However, it is apparent that instead of making up your own mind by watching them, you apparently have preconceived notions based on what other people have to say. Any magician who is interested in entertaining audiences by bringing them to a special world by a combination of story, effects, music, humour and imagination could benefit from the proper study of movies such as Star Wars. Someone who's interested in pacing, editing, project planning, marketing could benefit from learning more about StarWars. Not every thing in these movies is perfect but it's an enjoyable and educational journey, especially for a magician. I tip my hat to Lucas for developing, over the course of 30 years, his own vision and making MILLIONS of people "believe" in his imaginary world. In my mind, he's a true magician. The only other person who currently comes close to this achievement is J.K. Rowling. On a side note, last week-end, friends of mine were poking fun at me implying I was a geek for loving these movies and making fun of people who dress up as Star Wars characters, etc... Interestingly, these same people wouldn't hesitate to wait in line for hours wearing torn jeans, dirty T-Shirts and ugly bandanas and getting stone to go see a Rock concert, or paint their faces and wear sport Jerseys with big number One foam fingers at sports events, or dress in black while wearing fluorescent lights and go at secret rave parties... Anyway, we can talk about it next time we meet while we fool around with odd props while pretending to display magical powers and boasting we've entertained a few dozen people in the past few weeks...Ha! Ha! Ha! Of possible interest to you, these movies are filled with motivational messages... Luke : "I don't believe it" Yoda : "That is why you failed..." Jean-Luc |

Should the Star Wars movies be watched "in order" or in the order they were released? STAR WARS(or as it was later renamed Episode IV: A New Hope) remains the most accessible of the entire series. If your first encounter with the Star Wars saga was THE PHANTOM MENACE and the first half of ATTACK OF THE CLONES, would you bother sitting through the rest? Opinions? |

"Should the Star Wars movies be watched "in order" or in the order they were released?" A tough question but I believe they should be watched "in order". I have actually done that in the past few weeks and got a better appreciation of the whole saga. If you do that, you may actually change your mind on the quality of the new trilogy. As I say not everything is perfect in these movies but it is a major cinematographic and entertainment accomplishment. I remember having a hard time to watch the rest of episode 4 after watching two robots endlessly walking in the desert. To answer your last question : Yes I would definitely bother sitting through the rest after seeing only chapter 1 & 2 of a great saga... Obi Wan : "Patience my young Pedawan..." J-L |

I am totally thrilled to see this thread still alive!
I am NOT a geek that lives at home with his mother, nor am I on medication. I am a somewhat normal guy that has a family and still appreciates...no, LOVES Star Wars. Ooooh the memories...1977 was a turning point in my life. I was seven years old. When I walked into the theater to see this movie I was Chris Robertson. when I walked out of the theater I was Luke Skywalker...hero. And a little too short to be a stormtrooper. Please remember I was only seven. I'm sure there is so much more to discuss, debate, and reminisce. May the force be with you...always. johnny

"And a little too short to be a stormtrooper. " funny... Unfortunately, a lot of people seem to judge the new movies with their 40 year old eyes and seem to blame the movies for the fact that it doesn't excite them the way A New Hope did in 1977. They then blame Lucas for screwing it up! |

Lucas did "screw it up." Without the original trilogy and related mythos to prop it up THE PHANTOM MENACE is a boring and silly!
Jar Jar Binks is a bad racial stereotype (FEETS DO YO STUFF!) and the 100% CGI battle (the one with the giant marbles)at the end just looks ridiculous! There are some redeeming qualities (the pod race, Darth Maul) but these are not enough to save this movie. If this had truly been Episode I there would not be an Episode II. |

Little did I know the group that created the comic book had received passes to a pre-opening screening. So the next day, I'm in the back sorting comics when I hear Paty and Elliot arguing about the key sequence; PATY: "No, no. He got it wrong! Darth should have said; 'Luke I _AM_ your father!" Thanks Paty!
