Just do something you've been doing that's perfected. Card effects work well, I think something like NFW or a comedy routine would be good. I think having audience participation isn't so important because its T.V., so just use your hardest, simplest effect.
Stick to the classics,

Here's one for crunch time. Empire Magic sells a "Disappearing Cards & Case" for under $7.00. It's a gaff, easy to do and plays strong (The whole deck dissapears). The cards and case look like bicycle cards so you can reproduce a real deck and move on to your next illusion. It's a great way to get into your card tricks and it really establishes your magic abilities right up front. I personally don't go anywhere without it, TV or not.

Dude, for advice on which tricks I personally would perform on television: Sideswiped, Bill in Lemon, or Skinner's Ultimate 3 Card Monte. These kill for lay audiences. I'm sure you're capable, good luck.

If you are looking for visual things, you might want to try coins. Anything with fire is wonderful. I think Paul Harris Solid Deception routine would look cool. Any torn and restored. Blizzard. Packet trick effects.

Any color change. the snap change is definetly a good choice. maybe a triumph effect, and a couple of flourishes.

For God's sakes FLY...I hear Copperfield is selling that illusion.....okay just joking. All these comments are good and hopefully you will be encouraged. Have you considered an effect that uses major gaffs and setups but really packs a punch. That would relieve you of messing it up so you can concentrate on presentation. I mean if you don't have to worry about angles, set ups, clean ups then why rely on sleights alone since no one will know the difference. Good luck!

Hey ya'll I don't mind being wrong I'm not perfect you know. Thanks for your insight.

Just a note before I go, everytime I perform before magicians and I think that I'm not going to impress them like I want they love me even though I don't feel that I did great. I said that to say this maybe Master Class might do the same thing.

Master Class I'm not a magician so I guess it's best to take their advice even though I would still go for it.

You're the boss of your life it's your decision.

Apart from my opinion that performing magic on television is a dumb thing in general, the time issue has to be considered. How much time have you got. I guess no more than 30 seconds. Also: If there is any dirty work, please be so kind and do it outside of the frame or shot, taking advantage of the situation. Nothing make my heart more bleed than a performer who shows how clever he gets rid of certain stuff while being filmed.

And while on the subject. Why card stuff?

Well, If I had 30 seconds, I would say.... please hand me ANY deck of cards, and would you please take one out as I shuffle. thanks! remember that card please, now just set it anywere in the deck you like. a little shuffle, and here is your card... what not it? ok.. I'm sorry hold this this then... and we'll take this one, not your either Hm... ok well, sorry. Wait whats that one in your hand again that your holding? I thought you said that wasnt yours Smile

It took me more than 30 seconds to type that (sorry) but I don't think that would take more than 30 sec. to preform, and of course, I just used what I learned in magic to "create" something for that limeted 30 seconds that would seem to fit the situation!.
