I just bought a brand new invisible deck (Bicycle) but everytime I spread through the cards, the backs of the cards flash very easily (i.e. they don't seem to stick together as well as I like them to)
I'm not sure why this is the case since all internet reviews say spreading without flashing is easy. I live in a place where the temperature of the weather is variable (sometimes its 18 degrees, sometimes 30 degrees). Is it because of temperature fluctuations that cause the spreading to be more difficult? Is it easier in cooler temperature? Thx in advance |

Maybe you bought the one in bad quality.

Its most likely a question of applying the right pressure to the cards.
If you hold then too lightly yhey will spread. |

I have been applying the right amount of pressure and everything. Apparently, I think the coating is not as good as its suppose to be. Some other magicians advised me to apply roughing fluid onto the backs of the cards...

Roughing fluid could help, but make sure that you try spreading them every way. You might need to apply pressure the the cards your pushing ove, or you might need to put less. I would take it to where you purchased it and show it to them and try to get another one. Also check how the cards are bent and try to see if that is effecting it at all.
Stick to the classics,

Try re-applying Testor's Dull Cote.

Most new decks work great. It's possible bad decks do get through the QC check points (assuming there is some). Personally I make my own, and it's perfection everytime. However, I went through a few decks before I got the right stuff and application techniques.
If you bought your deck locally, take them back. I'm sure the store will gladly give you a new set if they are defective. When you get your new ones, take really good care of them. Don't overuse them (practice and peformance use only), and be sure to only work with clean hands. It may be technique though. Make sure you spread them the same way everytime. I don't "fan" them, I move them straight over from my right hand to my left. It's more of a ribbon spread vs a fan spread. and PLEASE, don't show anyone how they work!! |

Yep, managed to change the invisible deck for a new one, which works better. Luckily, the store didn't mind since I just bought it a few days back. Anyway, thanks a lot to everyone for the advices.
