I personally think that mentalism is more suited for a formal setting. I'm not bashing anything, but I've found that some mental effects are better off the streets.
that being said, there are some that are definately FOR the streets. I like using the elevator for levitations, because somtimes people think they know how its done with the balducci (only sometimes), and then I do it with a frontal view. |

Goto School for Scoundrels (experts on ancient street swindles like the Shell Game, Three-Card Monte, and Fast and Loose and more...), they have lot of useful effects for street performers:

It is not exactly cards but I would say spontainious combustion as long as you are in a fire safe area.
