Hi all,

I just came across Greg Rostami's website, and I would like to say a few comments about the trick Cosmos, before ever thinking about buying it. First of all, seeing the description, it seems like it has NOTHING SUSPICIOUS about it, which I think it's impossible about card handling, especially when done by an amateur (like myself). Even the original OOTW, 99% self-working, has its own problems, such as the... (you know what I mean).

I also would like to say that the video and its editing, instead of being convincing, are actually completely unconvincing. Myself, when I look at magic videos, I try and see if the method is so evident that I may reproduce it myself (which was the case with the original ootw). If myself I can't figure out the method after a few tries, and if, and only if, the trick has nothing suspicious about it, then I might consider buying it. But if the video editing hides the handling,I have NO WAY to see if it is worth it or not.

Mr. Rostami, I am not saying you are a crook. I just would like to know from you, or from somebody that owns this trick, without publicly revealing the secret, what are its suspicious points, and possibly post a video of the full trick (because if the method is visible by a camera, it is visible by a clever spectator).

Warmest regards,

Nabil Stendardo

I really enjoyed reading all posts in three separate threads with regard to COSMOS. Afterall, I thought I guessed the methods, but the following two conditions Mr.Rostami listed hiders my full understanding.

(1)The deck of cards can be borrowed, which makes this miracle totally impromptu.
(2)The magician and the spectators NEVER look at the faces of the cards during the separation .

If someone can confirm that condition (1) was only for his impromptu version and condition (2) was only for his non-impromptu version, I will be able to sleep well without thinking about this problem.

Well I recieved mine yesterday, and I'm very pleased with Greg's new version of an old plot. I think his version is well thought out.. most people don't like it because in one version there are 2 people involved. I decided to try the impromptu version out with a borrowed deck today at work and I decided to use half of my co-workers on one side and the other group on the otherside..I had everyone involved and it was a hit with all of them! And also I took it a little further, I never looked at the cards as I was pushing them to either side..Thanks Greg for a wonderfull product.

Both #1 and #2 are true for the impromptu version.

The deck can be borrowed, and as the red/black mixed cards are distributed to the spectators, their faces are not examined. I thought the method/effect was quite clever, and don't feel in any way "ripped off."

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley.

Actually, both versions of Cosmos can be done with one spec and yourself. In fact, I allow the spec to decide whether my cards will go in either my red or black pile of cards.

I really like this effect.

Great idea Kevvy. The one thing I make sure of is when I perform the impromptu version, make sure that the cards have been well, well shuffled, which makes it look much better when the cards are distributed. Owners of this effect will know what I mean.

Hideo Kato, I suggest you watch the video again. You will then Sleep Well.

Hello friends,

Thank you all for your support. I'm afraid I can't leave too long of a message, I'm in Las Vegas now exhibiting at NAB. If you are in Vegas and would like to come by and say hello, I am demonstrating at Hash Inc's Booth in Central Hall.

Hi Kevvy,

I really love your idea. Do I have permission to publish that in my up and coming addendum to COSMOS?

Hi Rick,

Thanks a lot for your support brother. You also have a brilliant application of COSMOS that I need to experiment with further.

Man . . . I really love all the ideas that you guys are coming up with. You guys are MY inspiration.

all the best,
Greg Rostami

I also feel I should post saying that I was more than happy with what I recieved for my $20 when buying Cosmos. I bought it on the advice of Scott Guinn as I didn't already have a version that I used.

Hideo, xformer is right, both the conditions apply to the impromput version.

This is a strong, impromptu piece of magic.

When Greg accepts the payment, then you recieve the download link. As he mentioned he is in Las Vegas at the moment, so he probably might take a while to get back to you.

Even if I watched demo video again, I don't think I can sleep well tonight.

The bottomline is that magician need to know if each card is red or black. I can't guess how it is done in the trick. Maybe an clever method was invented as members who bought it gave positive opinions.

P.S.
I now found a solution in Secret Session. The balloon is shrunk.

Probably not. But there CAN be a best one for YOU, and your style and your performing requirements. In my case, COSMOS is the best one. I gave up the cost of one take out pizza and in return got the value of a Ruth's Chris Steak.

I'm glad you like it! You can definitely include it.
(Especially since you really do credit people who have inspired your work. lol)

Your explanation of how you perform for one spec which you posted in another thread would be a perfect addition to your addendum.
